THE APOSTLE’S DOCTRINE
…………………………………….
Study 36. The Apostles doctrine
(Answer to Question #15) What did (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) teach His apostles and disciples?
To do what?
Mark 16:15 (KJV) And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Luke 9:2 (KJV) And He sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
Luke 9:60 (KJV) Christ said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
Mat 28:19-20 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
And what did the disciples say and do with that?
2 Tim 2:2 (KJV) And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
The biggest and greatest example of what and how it’s to be done. "They preached, baptized, taught and continued steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine".
Acts 2:37-42 (KJV) Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. 41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were
added unto them about three thousand souls. 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
When did all this change? Why did the apostles not stop or change their doctrine during or after Christ (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) was Glorified or after Pentecost?
When did their doctrine about the plan of salvation stop and started becoming only about faith or believing or that it ends in the cross just and only by accepting Christ?
There is nothing in the bible that tells us that the apostle’s doctrine or the plan of salvation has changed. Only Satan wants you to believe that. Satan wants you indoctrinated with a watered-down gospel so you can be short of salvation.
Satan will even counterfeit the feeling of happiness and will even throw in some “miracles” to maintain you BELIEVING that you have received salvation.
Remember, Satan can counterfeit everything, except the love that YHWH has for His children and His one truth of the Gospel! Satan has a counterfeit salvation plan, a counterfeit Christ, a counterfeit Holy Spirit, a counterfeit pretty much everything. And if you are not sealed with the Ruach Hakodesh, then any other spirit can come and out of you and make you feel whatever it wants. From happiness, to even throwing up in church while the “pastor” lays hands on you making you believe you are being delivered!
For Satan it is also better for you to stop sin in most areas of your life and learn other truths from the word of YHWH, as long as he keeps you away from knowing the true plan of salvation. Because without salvation, it does not matter how much you know or follow YHWH’s word. Satan will still be victorious because you never got saved and ended up in a permanent vacation in his hometown called HELL.
The doctrine of the apostles is a direct teaching of our Lord and Saviour יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach in connection to eternal life. Anything different are the doctrines of devils.
Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV) Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
So, get your salvation right. Everything must be done correctly,
It must be done by someone called and ordained “by YHWH”.
It must also be done for the right reasons and the correct way.
That is the reason the Gospel shows us the example of Paul asking the 11 disciples, of WHO baptized them, and also rebaptizing them, because they were missing something. In this case the baptism and laying of hands for the indwelling of the Holy Ghost!
Christ preached YHWH the Father’s doctrine.
Matthew 7:28(KJV) And it came to pass, when Yeshua had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
Also found in Matthew 22:33, Mark 1:22, Mark 11:18,
Christ taught YHWH the Father’sdoctrine.
Luke 4:32 (KJV) And they were astonished at his doctrine: for His word was with power.
Christ taught the apostles the doctrine of YHWH the Father.
Mark 4:2 (KJV) And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in His doctrine,
We are warned about other doctrines.
Matt 16:12 (KJV) Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Also found in Mark 12:38, Romans 16:17, 1 Timothy 1:10, 2 Timothy 4:3, Revelation 2:14, Revelation 2:15.
We are to teach no other doctrine.
1 Timothy 1:3 (KJV) As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
We are to continue in the doctrine, which is now the Apostle’s doctrine. Acts 2:42 (KJV) And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
We are to continue reading and practicing the doctrine until Christ comes back 1 Timothy 4:13 (KJV) Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
If we continue in the doctrine, we will be good ministers.
1 Timothy 4:6 (KJV) If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
We are to place careful attention to the doctrine and continue in them, for by doing this we will save ourselves and those that hear us.
1 Timothy 4:16 (KJV) Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
Also found in Hebrews 10:23, 1 Cor 1:10.
We are to mark, call out false teachers, withdraws ourselves and avoid them.
1 Timothy 6:3-11 (KJV) If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
Also found in 2 John 1:10-11,Romans 16:17
All scripture is given by inspiration of YHWH, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of YHWH, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Also found in 2 Timothy 4:2, Titus 1:9, Titus 2:7
We are to exhort each other to continue in the faith.
Acts 14:22 (KJV) Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of YHWH.
We are to examine ourselves to make sure we are in the right faith.
2 Corinthians 13:5 (KJV) Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

TRUTH OR DECEIT?
…………………………
Study 37. Truth or deceit?
Sadly, the world has various ideas about who and what a “Christian” is or isn’t. Some believe a Christian is anyone born into a Christian-professing family and or christened by a priest or minister. Others say a Christian is one who has “given his heart to the Lord” and is “born again” or perhaps a Christian is one who simply claims to be a believer!
It is a sad fact however, that some live and die assuming that he or she is a “Christian”—only to find out in Judgment Day that God never recognized their brand of “Christianity”.
Jesus, in fact, warned us of that.
Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV) Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
So, which are you?
Are you a Christian, a believer, or a disciple of Jesus?
In reality it does not matter which one you chose to call yourself, because everyone is in danger of losing their salvation.
In reference to believers: Believing alone does not save anyone. As a matter of fact, believing only gets us closer to salvation. Romans 13:11 (KJV) and that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now, is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
In reference to disciples: the gospel is also quick to show us that even disciples are in danger of losing or giving up their salvation. Paul gives us the story of a disciple that forsook him because he loved this world. 2 Tim 4:10 (KJV)For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
In John 6:66 The gospel is quick to tell us that “Many” disciples walked no more with Jesus.
You Can read the whole chapter to understand why many left, but you will have to go back and start in chapter 5 to get the full story.
There is a BIG difference between being a follower of God, following His example and being an imitator. Ephesians 5:1 (KJV) Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children. Please check your bible and see what it says. Small changes in words here and there does not seem much, but it makes major differences when it comes to the word of God. It becomes the difference between eternal life and death.
There is a difference in this world between accepting the truth of “Jesus Christ” or the lies, which will maintain you in a worldly, empty spiritual life, where your soul will always be seeking, wondering, and never finding rest.
We are NOT to imitate God, we are NOT to be God, we are not even to be like God. We are to be Godly, we are to follow Him, honor Him, worship Him and love Him.
Study and verify everything you know and learn because your eternal life depends on it.
You shall eventually know that I am not your regular daily preacher, that there is always more to what God has to say through me.
Whether anyone wants to hear what God has to say, teach, or correct through me is a different story. We all have free will and our flesh/feelings tend to do the opposite of what He created us to be or do. Gal 5:7 (KJV) For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
I know most of the time I can make people uncomfortable. Some of the reasons that I have heard is because I am too serious or straight to the point. I have heard that I am a very devout believer and say it “how it is”. Some have even said that I am too harsh and opiniated on delivering the truth. Some have even dared to call me legalistic, because I follow the 10 commandments or try to be obedient to everything He commands us to do. So, Am I really legalistic?
In all truth and reality, my obedience to the Lord, my love for the brethren, my good intentions, my devotion to preach and teach truth, and the burden I carry for those lost or stuck with erroneous teachings does not mean ANYHING for those who choose to be blind to the word of God and/or have chosen their own doctrine according to their family tradition or personal understanding.
The word of God says, Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Luke 13:23 (KJV) Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Matthew 22:14 (KJV) For many are called, but few are chosen.
The big question is “why will only a few be chosen or only a few will find this gate?” and Why are pastors teaching a salvation plan that is so contradictive to what the Gospel says?
Jude 1:3 warns us of a false faith, a false salvation. He tells his brethren to go back to the faith that was once delivered unto the saints. Some of them were influenced and were following doctrines other than the Apostles doctrine.
Ladies and gentlemen, this was TWO THOUSAND years ago and things have gotten worst and harder to find the truth since then.
Have you guys ever heard of anyone teaching the apostles doctrine?
Who or what makes us believe that we are truly saved?
-A pastor that tells us what we want to hear and makes us feel good?
-A family member with a long Christian tradition record that has the gospel down-right to their understanding?
-A church whether big or small where we feel happy, safe, and comfortable?
-Or an easy-to-read Holy Bible like the NIV, NLT, NASB or Jehovah witness bible?
1 Peter 4:18 (KJV) And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Hmm, “righteousness”, another study. You can find it in our Discipleship 101 Book, Study 41.
Our heavenly Father has warned us for the last two thousand years of those things to happen. And some brethren do not know, do not care or are just naive to think that Satan will not creep into their homes with his poisonous teachings, just because they choose to “believe” otherwise.
2 Timothy 3:1 (KJV) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
God tells us that we are not to be dependent on anyone for our salvation and even then, He tells us that we have to work it out with fear and trembling Philippians 2:12 (KJV) Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
I'm pretty sure most of us need more understanding about the meaning of fear and trembling to God but that’s another study. Here are clues on how and what to do when we have questions.
1. 2 Timothy 2:15 will tell you how to find that answer.
« Study to shew thyself approved unto God, ………
2. 2 Tim 3:16-17 will show you what to do, how, why, and where to find that answer.
« All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
3. 1 John 4 will tell you what to do with everything you read, hear or learn.
« Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
4. If you have any issues, or get stuck, go back, and start with #1 again.
Getting back in track, the one thing I can see in common with all the reasons that stops them from listening and receiving what I present is that I make them feel “uncomfortable”, and sadly we have learned through the knowledge of the world that un·com·fort·a·ble is an adjective that means causing or feeling slight pain or physical discomfort or distress; painful; irritating. in a state of discomfort; uneasy; conscious of stress or strain. (This is from an oxford dictionary and google). And sadly, we are always hearing that no one needs to feel uncomfortable.
In reality being uncomfortable can be both a bad and good thing. Like being uncomfortable to speak in front of others about Jesus, Right? Or maybe even like being uncomfortable when we tell our non-believing family that we have chosen to follow Him. Or someone feeling uncomfortable when they are invited to a bible study and they don’t want to hear or care about it.
Think about it! When it comes to confessing Jesus as Lord and saviour, or studying or sharing the gospel, is it really about being in pain, and distress, or in a state of discomfort, stressed out? Or could it also be a state of being afraid or ashamed?
So, we can add to the definition of being uncomfortable the feeling of being afraid, shameful, or ashamed, (for whatever reasons it may be).
So, with the above said we can come to the conclusion and truly say that when our faith or doctrine is questioned, it can be a good sign. But It’s only a good sign if it can show us where we need to grow as a believer.
Whether it be having more courage in talking to other people about our God and His salvation, or whether it is having more courage to correct others.
A lack of courage could also be a sign of the fear of failure due to the lack of knowledge.
Another VERY important question is; What are we lacking, or what is the issue that blocks us when we choose not to listen and receive possible correction?
Hmm, A penny for your thoughts! _____________________________.
Maybe a lack of humbleness, meekness, love, or maybe indoctrination?
So, we must go deep and ask ourselves, “what are we lacking?” is it a lack of courage, a lack of Godly knowledge, a lack of Godly understanding, a lack of faith, a lack of humility, is it too much unbelief, or are we just ashamed of the gospel?
You might find this hard to believe or connect, but whatever that block may be, it boils down to unbelief!
Matthew 13:58 (KJV) And He did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Matthew 17:20 (KJV) And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
And this “unbelief” is something we must check within ourselves daily!
Like I said, there is always more to it! The main thing we must see and understand is that the first thing Satan attacks through unbelief is our identity. And if that works for Satan, then he will continue attacking us with it until the death of our bodies. This is another study #41 “Discipleship 101”.
There is always more to it than just “faith alone”.
More than the watered-down “by faith alone you are saved”, that is sold by most Pastors. More that the watered-down faith that God simply will answer all of our prayer requests just because we ask. More than “God’s love for everyone” is automatic because someone just chooses to believe!
There are many and I say many staggered (hesitant) and unfruitful brothers in Christ because of their lack of believing and Godly faith. Romans 4:20
« A “lack of faith” is brought through the lack of Godly understanding. 2 Tim 3:16-16
« A lack of “Godly understanding” is because we lean to our own understanding instead of God’s understanding. Prov 3:5, Prov 28:26.
« We lean to “Our own understanding” because of the lack of Godly knowledge. Prov 3:5-6, Prov 10:13
A lack of Godly knowledge brings death. Hosea 4:6
« A “lack of “Godly knowledge” is due to a lack of studying the word of God. 2 Tim 2:15
« A “lack of studying” is because of plain laziness or of an overflow of faith and trust to false teachings, through the acceptance of the knowledge that the world gives through false teachers and false prophets. Proverbs 24:32, James 4:17,
« A “trust to false teachings” because we listen to our deceitful hearts and run with it because it just feels right. Most do this without even taking their time to verify their teachings being disobedient to when God tell us to “TEST EVERY SPIRIT” whether is from Him or not. 1 John 4,
« A “deceitful heart” is because of a lack of obedience. Disobeying God’s commandments such us to study, test every spirit, to correct, be corrected, instruct, reproof, etc. Matt 15:19, Mark 7:21, Luke 12:24, Luke 6:45.
Lack of obedience! The exact same reason Adam and Eve got kicked out of the garden of eve. Man’s first sin!
So, it’s just another big circle on which all boils down to DISOBEDIENCE.
So, a lack of faith is a lack of obedience!
Did I just hear someone say…. “WOW. All that sermon just to say that obedience to God’s commandments are important?”.
Yes, but Not exactly 😊, The gospel says that the end of the commandment is sincere faith. 1 Tim 1:5 (KJV) now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned.
But James says that perfect faith is brought by our works! 2:24 Sees thou how faith wrought with his works a man is made perfect?
Good works, that’s another class! It’s in your 101-salvation study #35.
Now. Remember earlier when I said, “Some have even called me legalistic, because I follow the 10 commandments or try to be obedient to everything, He commands us to do”?
Well, there is always more to it! 😉
What does too legalistic mean to the world? Here is the google definition of “Being too legalistic” = giving too much attention to legal rules and details: a legalistic interpretation of the facts.
Britannica’s Dictionary definition of LEGALISTIC. [more legalistic; most legalistic] disapproving.: too concerned with legal rules and details.
Well, I guess the world is right. Even some of the Pastors are correct. I AM LEGALISTIC😒, but I will not apologize for that.
One of the reasons I will not apologize for it or change in any way, is because worst case scenario, I will be doing more of what God asks of me. And doing more will not hinder my end goal of being an eternity with Him. But, not being legalistic CAN mean being short on obedience to Gods commandments, and that may hinder many from entering heaven.
The above information was my answer to the world. The real answer to our brothers and sisters who are truly seeking for the truth is the following:
Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV) Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Google says: in·iq·ui·ty = noun, immoral or grossly unfair behavior. 💩
Biblical definition of INIQUITY = Strongs Number: G458
Greek Word: ἀνομία. Strongs Definition: illegality that is violation of law or (generally) wickedness.
INIQUITY G458 comes from the root word LAWLESS or WICKED= Strongs Number: G459
Greek Word: ἄνομος. Strongs Definition: lawless that is (negatively) not subject to (the Jewish) law; (by implication a Gentile) or (positively) wicked.
So, lets rephrase the verse with the correct definitions:
Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV) ……… then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work illegality.
OR Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV) ……… then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work lawlessness.
Seems that our Heavenly Father does not like illegality. On which He also sees as wickedness.
And the opposite of illegality is legality.
So, would it not being legalistic when it comes to God’s commandments be a good thing?
And NOT BEING LEGALISTIC be a bad and wicked thing?
We all need to understand that the more obedient we are to Gods commandments, the more we show our love to Him and because our love grows, our obedience also grows, and because our obedience grows, our love continues to grow! It is just another big circle!
See study 36, Obedience and love.
Have you ever heard Pastors tell EVERYONE “God loves you, and you and you?
I see that as giving candy to babies. It’s not healthy!
Some will even dare to say: God loves you just the way you are. “Jesus loves sinners”.
Did you know that there are only 2 ways to receive our heavenly Fathers’ love?
His love is NOT automatic, neither is His saving grace.
We “earn” His love by being obedient to His commandments!!!!!
John 14:23 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
John 14:21 (KJV) He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Have you ever heard; God does not hate people? Or God hates the sin, not the sinner? That God only hated the deeds of the people like the Nicolaitans?
Well, some of us used to strongly believe that…. UNTIL our Lord showed us and we searched the scriptures and verified it! What does God really say?
Well, seems that HATE is a harsh word and the world does not like it. But our Heavenly Father is not a respecter of people, and seems He preferred to use a different deeper meaning word. The word “Abhor”:
*Strongs Number: H1602, Hebrew Word: גָּעַל. Strongs Definition: to detest; by implication to reject.
* Strongs Number: H8581, Hebrew Word: . תַּעָב. Strongs Definition: to {loathe} that {is} (morally) detest.
Lev 26:11 H1602 And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor/detestyou.
Lev 26:30 H1602 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor/detestyou.
Ps 5:6 H8581 Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor/detest the bloody and deceitful man.
Lets put the John 14 verses in a different perspective.
John 14:23 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man does not love me, he will not keep my words: and my Father will not love him, and we will not come unto him, and make our abode with him.
John 14:21 (KJV) He that does not hath my commandments, and does not keepeth them, he it is that hateth me: and he that hateth me shall be hated of my Father, and I will hate him, and will not manifest myself to him.
When it comes to what God commands us to do, even though we are to love our neighbor and our enemies (Luke 6:27, Luke 6:35, Matt 5:44), the gospel is also quick to tell us that we are to detest that which is evil.
Romans 12:9 (KJV) Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
In other words: Let love be sincere. Hate/detest that which is evil; stick to or glue to that which is good.
So, again, what is truth and what is error?
Think about this verse: Luke 13:23-24 (KJV) Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
“Many will seek and shall not be able”.
This is mostly due to blindness and lack of knowledge in the word of God. It is due to lies and indoctrination. It is brought by Satan through unbiblical teachings by our family members, friends, pastors, ancestors, and their customs. And we are at fault because we allow it, by not studying, questioning, and verifying every doctrine that is presented to us!
Maybe you feel that the Jehovah witnesses have it wrong, or the Catholics, or the Mormons, or the Methodist, Lutherans, Calvinists, etc. (They are all Christians).
Do you feel empowered or believe your church has it all right, just because you keep the Sabbath?
What makes you certain that you are not on the same boat?
Your sabbath is wrong also! See study 42 “The Sabbath” and find out why!
It is my prayer that you are seeking truth and are open to listening and verifying what you listen and read here. And I also pray you take 2 Tim 3:16 to heart and abide by it. That the same way you may correct someone, that you may be able to also receive correction.
2 Tim 3:16 (KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
The reality is that “Pastor X” is not alone with his teaching of salvation!
There are many churches and denominations that teach a believe alone or faith alone salvation plan! (To understand this Pastor X comment, you will need to read study 14, “The Story”).
Some examples of their teachings are:
Ø Salvation is a gift of God's grace through Christ received by faith alone. Baptism does not save a person; it is a symbol and celebration of salvation, they quote (1 Peter 3:21).
Ø Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change. It is a public declaration of how Jesus changed your life. Being baptized shows others that you have decided to follow Jesus, and allows them to celebrate this decision with you, they quote (Acts 16:31-34).
Ø God's Word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works, they quote (Ephesians 2:8-9). Grace Alone. ... Our best efforts can never be good enough to earn salvation, but God declares us righteous for Christ's sake.
Thanks to John Doe, now we have more good questions added to the initial ones we had! We have combined both sets of questions and placed them in order to be answered. The study number and page number on the study will be found on (RED) at the end of the question.
1. Why does the bible say that if we do not believe and are baptized, we will not be saved in Mark 16:16? (Study 17 pg. 83)
2. Are we truly saved by believing ALONE or by faith ALONE? (Study 17 pg. 86)
3. Does God require more of us than just believing or faith? (Study 17 pg. 86)
4. Do we need remission of sins for salvation and how do we attain it? (Study 25 pg. 171)
5. Why does the bible say, baptism also saves us in 1 Peter 3:21? (Study 26 pg. 183)
6. Why does the NIV and NLT do not have the word remission and instead change it to forgiveness? When in forgiveness: you forgive, but you still remember and in remission you forget and let go as it never happened! (Study 26 pg. 184)
7. Is water baptism necessary for salvation or is it only an outward expression of our faith? (Study 26 pg. 191)
8. Why does Acts 2:38 say that baptism is performed for the remission for our sins? (Study 26 pg. 192)
9. Why did Paul baptize some disciples again in order to receive the Holy Ghost in Acts 9:18? (Study 29)
10. Was Apostle Peter saved during the first two years that he walked with Christ? Because in Luke 22:31-32 Jesus says that Peter was not converted and denied Jesus 3 times by the time of the resurrection & then in Matthew 18:3 Jesus Himself also tells usthat if we are not converted, we will not enter into the kingdom of heaven? (Study 29)
11. When and how do we receive the indwelling of the Holy Ghost? (Study 29)
12. Is conversion needed for our salvation? Was Peter saved before Christ’s Crucifixion? (Study 33 pg. 278)
13. Why does it say in Titus 1:16, that if we do not do good works we deny professing God, and are abominable in the eyes of God, and we are disobedient to God and reprobates or not pure unto every good work? (Study 35 pg. 296)
14. Do we need any type of good works to be saved or maintain our salvation? (Study 35 pg. 298)
15. What is the apostle’s doctrine? (Study 37 pg. 325)
The sad truth is that there are many, many churches that teach a common salvation plan. According to the word of God there is a common salvation plan on which is not of the true faith, just like Buddhism and Hinduism.
You must NOT accept or allow anyone to preach to you a common salvation plan that is NOT from God. Even God speaks about those that have received a false plan of salvation in Jude 1:3 (KJV) Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
So, in all truth and layman's terms, this is what Jude is saying:
It was needful to write to you of the common salvation and appeal to you that ye should, (leave that common salvation plan and) with sincere and intense conviction, strive for the faith which was once delivered unto the Saints.
Salvation through Jesus Christ by itself is the greatest gift of all. But if you have been lied to and have accepted a common salvation plan or doctrine, then you are on the exact same road to damnation! Just like the people following the Buddhism and Hinduism religion.
We are going to break it all down and be as orderly as possible. Because we should be able to prove to you that if we go and do what “Pastor X” said is NOT biblical and left unchecked and uncorrected, it will lead anyone straight to hell! We are going to use John Doe as the guinea pig here as an example to find out if he went to heaven or not!
John Doe:
ü He believed Jesus is the Son of God.
ü He believed Jesus died for all our past sins.
ü He believed Jesus resurrected 3 days later.
ü He believed that Jesus is sitting on the right-hand side of the Father interceding for us!
ü He confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Through sinner’s prayer).
ü He confessed himself as a sinner (Through sinner’s prayer).
ü He repented of his sins. (Let us just say he truly repented when he believed!)
ü He asked for forgiveness (Through sinner’s prayer).
ü He called upon the Lord into his life (Through sinner’s prayer).
ü He was baptized as a baby, by sprinkle!

STATEMENT OF FAITH
Part 1
…………………………………….
Zion's Roar
"Holy Spirit Ministry"
We are "Zion's Roar" A Holy Spirit ministry.
Disciples of “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach); teaching and continuing steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine. Acts 2:37-42
Our mission is to obediently preach the Gospel of Christ through the Apostle’s doctrine. Preaching the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation which includes repentance and remission of sins.
Luke 24:47 (KJV) And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Our Statement of Faith....
1. The word of YHWH is the sole authority for the believer’s faith, conduct and doctrine. 2 Tim 3:16 (KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of YHWH, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Romans 6:12-13 (KJV) Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto YHWH, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto YHWH.
2. The Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by YHWH (and better preserved for English speaking people in the King James Version of the Bible). 2 Peter 1:20-21 (KJV) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of YHWH spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
2 Tim 3:17 (KJV) That the man of YHWH may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
3. YHWH exists as a Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. John 1:1-3 (KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with YHWH, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with YHWH. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.
1 John 5:7 (KJV) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
John 10:30 (KJV) I and my Father are one.
4. The world was created by YHWH through Christ in six literal twenty-four-hour days. (Genesis 1)
5. All mankind is sinful after the fall of Adam, and all mankind needs salvation. Rom. 5:12 (KJV) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
6. In the virgin birth, sinless life of “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach), and that He died for the sins of all those that would believe in Him. (Matt 1:18-25 (KJV) Now the birth of “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) Christ was on this wise: When as His mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach): for He shall save His people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him and took unto him his wife: 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called His name “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach).
Hebrews 10:10 (KJV) By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) Chist once for all.
7. In the literal, bodily resurrection of Christ from the grave and bodily ascension into Heaven where He is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for believers. 1 Corinthians 15:4 (KJV) And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Rom. 8:34 (KJV) Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of YHWH, who also maketh intercession for us.
8. In a literal Heaven and a literal Hell as the only two eternal abodes of the souls of men. John 14:2-3 (KJV) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
2 Peter 2:4 (KJV) For if YHWH spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
9. In the autonomy of the local church as an assembly of baptized believers (disciples) with the purpose of carrying out the Great Commission. (Matt 28:19 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Acts 2:37-42 (KJV) Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did He testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. 41 Then they that gladly received His word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
10. That those that believe and have put their faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross and fulfill all of YHWH's conditions (requirements) for salvation will abide with YHWH in Heaven for eternity. (1 John 5:12 (KJV) He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of YHWH hath not life.
The conditions/requirements are as follow:
a. By believing which is the first step towards salvation and that no one is saved the moment they believe. Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
b. That the moment a person believes, they are sealed with YHWH’s promise of salvation until the day of their salvation. We understand that it is only a promise and not salvation!
And that “if” and “as long as” that person meets all the conditions/requirements that YHWH has, in order to give them that salvation, that person will receive that salvation!
« Gal 3:22 (KJV) But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) Christ might be given to them that believe.
1 John 2:25 (KJV) And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
Ephesians 1:13-14 (KJV) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit
of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.
Ephesians 4:30 (KJV) And grieve not the holy Spirit of YHWH, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Also in 1 Peter 18-25, Mark 16:16, Romans 10:9, Acts 16:31, John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:4)
c. By Faith. Ephesians 2:8 (KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of YHWH:
2 Timothy 3:15 (KJV) And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) Christ.
1 Peter 1:5 (KJV) Who are kept by the power of YHWH throughfaith untosalvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
d. By recognizing that we have sinned against YHWH and broke His commandments. Romans 3:23 (KJV) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of YHWH.
e. By being willing to turn from our sins and repent. 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Mark 2:17 (KJV) When “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) heard it, He saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
f. By confessing with our mouth (Audible) “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) Lord and Saviour. Acts 2:21 (KJV) And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:9-13 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach), and shalt believe in thine heart that YHWH hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
g. By baptism. Baptism is NOT an outward expression of our faith! And baptism is NOT just done out of obedience!
Baptism is an essential part of salvation!
Romans 6:3-4 (KJV) Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore, we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Galatians 3:26-27 (KJV) For ye are all the children of YHWH by faith in “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) Christ. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Baptism and with water because it is “physical water” what YHWH chose to use as a physical instrument for our spiritual purification of our sins. Num 19:7-9 (KJV) … “for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.”
Exo 30:20 (KJV) “they shall wash with water, that they die not;”
Lev 22:6 (KJV) “shall be unclean until even, unless he wash his flesh with water.”
John 3:5 (KJV) “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of YHWH.
Matt 3:6 (KJV) And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
Acts 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
i. Baptism must be done in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost (using their known Hebrew names). Matthew 28:19 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
ii. By one Water Baptism that is done for both, the remission of sins and for the indwelling of the Holy Ghost.
Ephesians 4:5 (KJV) One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
iii. Water baptism must be done for the purpose of the remission of sins Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of “Jesus” (יהושועJoshua Hamashiach) Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Luke 3:3 (KJV) And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
iv. Water baptism must also be done for the purpose of the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. Acts 19:2-5 (KJV) He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach). 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Yeshua.
Acts 1:5 (KJV) For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 11:16 (KJV) Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
Also found in Matt 3:16, Mark 1:10, Luke 3:22, John 1:32, Acts 8:1-40, Acts 19:2-6)
1. The praying and laying of hands after baptism for the receiving of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 8:15-17 (KJV) Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 16…17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. 18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, 19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
Acts 19:2-6 (KJV) 2…3…4…5…6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues and prophesied.
h. That the person doing the baptism must have been called and ordained directly by YHWH or called by Him and ordained by someone who was priorly called and ordained by YHWH.
Acts 1:22 (KJV) Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of His resurrection.
1 Corinthians 7:17 But as YHWH hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so, ordain I in all churches.
1 Cor 9:14 (KJV) Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
Acts 13:48 (KJV) And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
i. Why is the person performing the Baptism so important? Because the person truly called and ordained by YHWH has been given the authority to remit anyone’s sins through baptism. John 20:23 (KJV) Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
11. By doing good works after Baptism, because YHWH commands us to, and it strengthens our faith. It also helps us maintain our salvation. Acts 26:20 (KJV) But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to YHWH, and do works meet for repentance.
a. What happens if we do not do good works?
*We deny professing YHWH!
*We are abominable (detestable) to YHWH!
*We are disobedient to YHWH!
*We are reprobates (not pure) unto every good work!
Titus 1:16 (KJV) They profess that they know YHWH; but in works they deny Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
James 2:22 (KJV) Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
12. By YHWH's grace and mercy. Must look at Salvation map (Study 22) to understand why YHWH’s saving grace is all the way after all the commandments, including baptism.
Acts 15:11 (KJV) But we believe that through the grace of the Lord “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
Ephesians 2:8 (KJV) For by grace are ye saved throughfaith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of YHWH:
Titus 2:11 (KJV) For the grace of YHWH that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Titus 3:5 (KJV) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
13. As gentiles adopted by YHWH and being Yeshua’s, we are now of Abraham’s seed, therefore, we are of the house of Israel. We are the children of Israel.
Galatians 3:28-29 (KJV) There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) Christ. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Galatians 4:7 (KJV) Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of YHWH through “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach).
Ephesians 3:6 (KJV) That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Yeshua by the gospel:
Romans 8:17 (KJV) And if children, then heirs; heirs of YHWH, and joint heirs with Yeshua; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.
Titus 3:7 (KJV) That being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Hebrews 11:9 (KJV) By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

OUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST AND SPIRITUAL AMNESIA
…………………………………….
Our Identity According to the World vs. Our Identity in Christ
In our culture today, the greatest “sin” is often said to be losing yourself or changing who you are for someone else. The world tells us that identity comes from likes, dislikes, passions, and beliefs. To change these for another is considered weakness or loss.
But the gospel teaches something very different. True identity is not preserved by clinging to self, but by surrendering to God. We do not erase individuality, but we allow Him to reshape us. Our old ways are crucified, and a new life begins in Him:
“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17) (Study 25, Study 41).
Marriage as a Living Picture of Identity Transformation
Marriage gives us a clear picture of this truth. A wife does not have to give up her God-given passions, but in cleaving to her husband she learns to prioritize unity rather than self. Scripture declares:
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” (Genesis 2:24).
This “one flesh” is not erasure, but transformation through love (Study 95).
A husband is commanded to love his wife as Christ loved the church, giving himself in sacrificial love (Ephesians 5:25; Study 96). A godly wife, in turn, is called to reverence, respect, and submission to her husband not as weakness, but as her crown and strength (Proverbs 12:4; Study 97).
This picture shows that individuality is not destroyed but reshaped into unity. Just as husband and wife become one, so the believer is united to Christ.
The Apostles as Witnesses of Transformed Identity
The Gospels are further proof. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John each wrote with unique voices and perspectives. Their individuality remained, but their identity was transformed as they conformed to Christ. They were not erased, they became more of who God intended them to be by being hidden in Him (Study 49).
Consider how their identities changed as their walk grew stronger.
Peter, once impulsive, quick to boast, and even denying Christ in fear, became bold and steadfast. By Acts 2, he preached with unshakable confidence, leading three thousand souls to salvation in a single day. His identity was no longer “the unstable fisherman” but the rock God used to help establish the church.
John, known early on as a “son of thunder” (Mark 3:17) for his fiery spirit, was later transformed into the apostle of whom Christ loved the most. His writings emphasize fellowship, love, and abiding in God, showing a softened identity anchored in divine truth.
Matthew, once despised as a tax collector and traitor to his own people, left his old identity behind to follow Christ. Instead of recording taxes, he was called to record the Gospel, giving us the detailed account of our Saviour’s life.
Paul, though not one of the twelve during Christ’s ministry, was a persecutor of the church who became the most prolific writer of the New Testament. His identity shifted from enemy of the faith to servant of Christ, showing that God transforms even the hardest heart.
Thomas, remembered at first as “doubting,” was later sent forth as a missionary, carrying the gospel as far as India according to tradition. His identity was reshaped from skepticism to a faith-driven courage.
Their stories show us that identity in Christ is not about erasing who we were, but about transforming it into what God purposed from the beginning.
How Our Identity Is Supposed to Change
When we come to Christ, we are not simply given a new title, we are given a new life. Identity in Christ means transformation. Scripture does not call us to remain as we are but to be changed into His likeness.
A Call to Newness: “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness” (Ephesians 4:22–24).
A Call to Transformation: “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2).
The Danger of Twisting Scripture
Another danger today is false teaching and false Bibles. Small changes in words can change the truth completely.
For example, Ephesians 5:1 in the King James Bible says, “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children.” But many modern versions change “followers” to “imitators.” That may sound harmless, but it changes everything.
Think about a child. One child pretends to be his father by putting on his shoes and coat. He looks like him for a moment, but he is only imitating/pretending. Another child follows and listens to his father, obeys him, and learns from him. That child is truly walking in his father’s footsteps, changing and reshaping himself and becoming like his father.
We are not called to imitate God, as if we were little gods ourselves. We are called to follow Him, to obey, honor, and love Him as our Father.
A Call to Death and Life: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
Our old identity in the flesh must die. Our new identity in Christ must rule.
How We Are to Change
The Bible does not leave change to chance. It gives us clear commands.
Put off the old man(Colossians 3:8–9). This means casting away lying, anger, wrath, malice, filthy communication, and every sin that defined us before Christ.
Put on the new man (Colossians 3:10). This means clothing ourselves with mercy, kindness, humility, meekness, and longsuffering.
Walk in the Spirit(Galatians 5:16). The Spirit leads us away from fleshly works and into the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self-control.
Endure the refining process (1 Peter 1:7). Just as gold is tried by fire, so our faith and character are tested and purified.
This change is not optional; it is the mark of true discipleship.
Example: A New King and His Kingdom
When a new king takes the throne, his kingdom always changes. New laws are set, old policies are overturned, and the culture of the nation begins to reflect the heart of the ruler. Citizens either adapt to his reign or resist and rebel.
In the same way, when Christ becomes Lord of our lives, He is not just a Savior to rescue us, He is King to rule us. His commands replace our preferences. His will replaces our will. His standards become our standards.
Where once anger ruled, He commands forgiveness (Matthew 6:14–15).
Where once pride ruled, He commands humility (Philippians 2:3–5).
Where once self ruled, He commands submission to Him (Luke 9:23).
Just as a kingdom cannot remain the same under a new ruler, our lives cannot remain the same under Christ. To remain unchanged under His reign is to resist His kingship.
“For he hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son” (Colossians 1:13).
We have been moved from one kingdom to another, out of darkness into light. Therefore, our identity must change, because our King has changed.
The Danger of Spiritual Amnesia
Even with these promises, many believers suffer from spiritual amnesia, forgetting who they are in Christ. Scripture warns:
“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3).
Yet we often forget what God has revealed and what He has already delivered us from.
Peterhimself fell into this when fear overcame him and he denied Christ three times. Yet when he remembered who he was and whom he served, he rose again with boldness, no longer denying the Lord but declaring Him before rulers and crowds. His story reminds us that forgetting leads to failure, but remembering restores faith (Study 41, Study 50).
Thomas too struggled with amnesia when he doubted the resurrection, forgetting the promises Christ had already spoken. Yet when he touched the risen Lord, his memory was restored, and his identity renewed in faith.
Over time, sins we once rejected creep back in. The flesh whispers, “It wasn’t that bad,” or, “You can handle it now.” Forgetfulness in marriage looks the same: husbands forget vows of sacrificial love, wives forget vows of respect and faithfulness. Just as marriage vows must be remembered daily, so must our covenant with Christ.
A lack of memory is really a lack of faith, and a lack of faith is disobedience (Study 41, Study 50).
Causes of Spiritual Amnesia
Spiritual Causes:Disobedience to God’s commands (1 Samuel 15:23), worldly distractions and cares (Luke 8:14), hidden, unrepented sin, neglect of Scripture and prayer, and attacks of the enemy, who tries to steal the Word (Matthew 13:19).
Example: Martha, though a faithful follower, was distracted by serving and forgot to sit at the Lord’s feet. Her distraction shows how easily good intentions can lead to forgetfulness.
Physical Causes:Exhaustion and lack of rest (Matthew 26:41), poor stewardship of time and constant busyness, isolation from fellowship and accountability (Hebrews 10:25), and unhealthy habits that weaken the mind and body.
Example: The disciples in Gethsemane fell asleep in Christ’s greatest hour of need because their bodies were weary. Physical weakness opened the door to spiritual weakness.
Self-Examination Checklist
Ask yourself:
· Am I obeying God daily, or excusing “small” sins?
· Are worldly cares stealing my focus from prayer and Scripture?
· Is there hidden sin in my life that I’ve left unchecked?
· Do I feed on the Word daily, or live on spiritual crumbs?
· Am I faithful in prayer, or only call on God in emergencies?
· Am I caring for my body with rest, or letting exhaustion dull my spirit?
· Do I guard my time as belonging to God?
· Am I faithful in fellowship and accountability?
· Are my habits helping me walk in clarity, or pulling me away from God?
· When tempted, do I answer with who I am in Christ, or forget and give in?
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves” (2 Corinthians 13:5).
Spiritual Amnesia and the Disconnect Between Father and Son
One of the greatest causes of spiritual amnesia in modern Christianity is a false disconnect between God the Father and Christ the Son. Many view the Father as distant, harsh, or legalistic, while seeing Christ as approachable, merciful, and forgiving (Study 88).
This distortion is fueled by culture, music, and shallow teaching. Worship that exalts Christ while neglecting or diminishing the Father creates imbalance. Yet Scripture is clear: Christ does nothing apart from the Father:
“I can of mine own self do nothing… because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me” (John 5:30).
When we forget that our salvation is from the Father through Christ, we lose balance. Spiritual amnesia deepens when we exalt one truth while ignoring the whole truth. Christ Himself declared, “I and my Father are one” (John 10:30). Forgetting this unity leads to disobedience, while remembering it anchors our identity.
No Balance With Sin or Time
From Study 50L we learn that many deceive themselves by seeking a “balanced life.” But there is no balance when it comes to sin:
“What communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial?” (2 Corinthians 6:14–15).
Christ Himself declared:
“No man can serve two masters” (Matthew 6:24).
A divided life is not balance; it is bondage.
This applies to time as well. Time is the one thing we can never buy back. Every moment wasted on the world is stolen from God. Even the Sabbath, meant to be a delight, is treated by the flesh as a burden when the heart is divided. Scripture exhorts:
“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16).
The Cost of Identity and Discipleship
Marriage and discipleship both require counting the cost. A husband must lay down pride, a wife must lay down control. Similarly, a disciple must lay down the world. Christ compared discipleship to building a tower or going to war, teaching us to consider the cost and endure until the end (Study 48, Study 95).
Peter, John, and Paul each counted this cost, leaving nets, leaving family, leaving status, to gain Christ. God’s worth cannot be measured. He is above price, deserving all our time, obedience, and love. Likewise, marriage cannot survive on partial commitment, it requires all.
Remembering Our True Identity
Our identity is not defined by culture, feelings, or what others say. We are not who others claim we are, we are who God says we are: redeemed, chosen, and called His children (Study 15, Study 97).
John’s transformation shows us this truth: once zealous for calling down fire on others, his identity was reshaped into “the disciple whom Christ loved.”
Spiritual amnesia causes us to forget this, and when we forget, compromise follows. But when we remember, we stand firm. We stop looking back like Lot’s wife (Luke 17:32), and we press forward toward the high calling of Christ (Philippians 3:13–14).
Rejection, loneliness, and hardship are not abandonment but preparation. Diamonds are formed under pressure, gold refined by fire, and grapes crushed before the wine flows. In the same way, identity in Christ is forged through trials. Memory of His promises keeps us faithful (Study 41, 48, 49, 50, 88).
Like Paul, we must press forward, not backward. His past as a persecutor could have defined him, but his identity in Christ erased the condemnation of yesterday and gave him a new mission, to preach the gospel to the nations.

CORRECTING & CALLING OUT FALSE TEACHINGS
…………….……..….
Calling Out False Teachings.
· What does the bible say about correcting anyone or calling out false teachings?
· Is it biblical for the laymen of the faith to call out those in the pulpit, like Pastors, teachers, or the elders of the church?
· Is it even biblical for a believer to bring biblical correction to any brother and sister in Christ?
These questions are even more of importance today than ever. Within Christianity today there is an ever-growing group of believers that believe and are teaching that if you question or callout a pastor or leader in the church as a false teacher you are sinning against God Himself.
The truth is that ungodly tolerance has allowed too many churches in the world to be filled with false teachers and apostles. It is sinful tolerance that allows workers of iniquity with their perverted gospel to preach damnation to so many souls.
2 Peter 2:1-3 (KJV) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
In most churches the fear of controversy is so great that preachers and congregations will settle for peace at any cost. Even the cost of the truth – God’s truth. Their rationality is that peace is all-important and correcting anyone or calling out false teachings brings division to the church.
Peace is a biblical ideal, but so is PURITY. The peace of the church should NEVERbe bought at the price of the purity of the church.
There are several reasons that we shy away from correcting others and fear is one of them. Many pastors are afraid to deal with sinning church members just like most people today with exaggerated kindness, will tolerate teachers of iniquity in their pulpits because those preaching are such smooth-mannered and friendly persons. They would rather allow error to be preached and souls to be deceived than hurt the preacher’s feelings. They rather Let doctrines of demons be preached than to lose “friends” within the church! They rather allow false and cancerous teachings to kill its victim than having the preacher appear to be cruel. They rather let their “friends” die and possibly go to hell because they are disobedient to YHWH, than getting their hands dirty by proclaiming the true gospel and telling them they are going to hell because they have been indoctrinated with a counterfeit plan of salvation! …The best thing that could happen to some called Christian ministers of today is that they should be denounced in God’s name by their hearers. Colossians 2:8 (KJV)Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
One key to overcoming the fear of correcting those in sin or error is to recognize that if we know Christ, we are the Lord’s bondservant. And as such, He will hold us accountable for being faithful to Him.
We need to fear God more than we fear people and recognize that obedience to His command to love others requires correcting them if you see them heading for that cliff. Proverbs 27:5 (KJV) Open rebuke is better than secret love.
Whether we like it or not, we all need to learn how to give biblical correction to those who are in sin or in serious doctrinal error. Without correction, churches and families tend to run into the ditch. But, as always, we must appeal to Scripture for our final answer to all matters. So, what does the bible teach about correcting erroneous doctrine or calling out false teachers? Romans 16:17 (KJV) Now I beseech you, brethren, mark themwhich cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Ephesians 5:11 (KJV) And have no fellowshipwith the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Titus 3:10 (KJV) A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
1 Timothy 5:20 (KJV) Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
1 Corinthians 11:19 (KJV) For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
As can be seen in those verses, Marking, correcting, and rebuking applies especially to church leaders, but it also applies to every disciple. We all have relationships that require at times, if we truly love others, for us to offer biblical correction. So, although it is never a pleasant task, it is a commandment and a part of biblical love.
Identifying, reproving, rejecting, and marking them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine of the LORD, is to be a regular part of the Christian life. In this day and age when the increase of false teaching and teachers continue mutating at an alarming rate, those who love the LORD must examine and test everything against the final authority of the Word of God. See Study 15 “What is truth & what is error for more understanding.
Is it true that those who teach to correct false teachings or call out false teachers are sinning against God and are destroying the church because of it?
No, on the contrary, it is sinful NOT to expose false teachers!
Another factor that keeps us from correcting others is a misunderstanding of Matthew 7:1 (KJV) Judge not, that ye be not judged. This is one of the most misunderstood verses in the Bible. (See Study 74 “Judging Others” for better understanding). If you keep reading, in verse 6 Christ talks about not giving what is holy to dogs and not casting your pearls before swine. Obviously, we must make some pretty harsh judgments to label someone a dog or a swine!
We cannot minister to people if we do not make some sort of judgment about their spiritual condition.
As Disciples of Christ, we are held accountable for progressively learning and proclaiming the whole will and council of God. Which includes correcting and warning others for false teachings and calling out those responsible for them. Acts 20:26-32(KJV) Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. 27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. 28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. 29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. 31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. 32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
Logically, in order for any believer to mark and avoid a false teachings for both them and others, one must expose and callout those false teachings. We constantly see throughout Scripture, both Christ and the Apostles calling out false teachers of the faith. Christ rebukes false teachers in Matthew 23 and Luke 11, and even then we are shown in various verses other examples of disciples calling out false teachers. In the book of 2 Timothy, as an example, the Apostle Paul names a number of false teachers by name: 2 Timothy 2:17-18(KJV) And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
2 Timothy 3:8 (KJV) Now as Jannes and Jambreswithstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
2 Timothy 4:10 (KJV) For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
2 Timothy 4:14 (KJV) Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
There is a biblical mandate to call out false teachers and their followers.
Another reason why we might not correct others: We are aware of sin in our own lives. We are afraid that if we try to correct someone else, they will point the finger back at us, and we know that we’re guilty as charged. So, we do not bring up the other person’s sin in hopes that he will not bring up our sin! But, Scripture commands us to deal with any known sin in our lives. That’s why Paul’s instruction of 2 Tim 2:21 of correction follows his exhortation on purging ourselves from sin. We do not have to be perfect to bring correction to others, or it would never get done. But we do have to also judge our own sins and purge them out of our lives.
What about laziness and procrastination? Many times, it may feel more of a hassle to correct than to let it go. We may feel it takes effort to arrange a time to get together. We feel it is stressful to talk about such matters. We feel and most likely will risk a backlash from the other person. But we are commanded to follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Tim 2:22), and that always requires effort and risk. See Study 16 “Our feelings” for better understanding.
Another reason we may not correct those in sin is that we have carelessly bought into the tolerant, relative morality of our culture. We mistakenly think that love means accepting the person, sin, and all, with no moral judgments about his behavior. But God’s Word gives us the absolute standards for godly and ungodly behavior. The consequence of sowing to the flesh is corruption, which isn’t good. Love requires at least the attempting to correct. Galatians 6:8 (KJV)For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Would the all-knowing God have put such warnings in His Word if being corrupted or poisoned were not possible?
The biggest way a person can be corrupted, or lose their salt is through false doctrines and philosophies that promote man over the Sovereignty of God.
Colossians 2:8 (KJV)Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
As it can be seen through the Word of God, there is a biblical mandate to correct and call out false teachers and their followers. God allows false teachers in order to test whether or not the Church will be faithful in its biblical mandate to expose them and protect the flock from them. False teachers are in essence part of the judgment of God to those who do not desire the truth of the Word of God by giving them what their heart truly desire. (Let this saying sink).
Of course there is always more to it. Some doctrinal controversies are clearly important and worth correcting and defending vigorously. But some issues may not be worth dealing with, at least maybe not at that moment. A correct doctrine must always be the goal, but the correction of fruitless doctrinal controversies in the church must be temporarily put aside. 1 Cor 10:23 (KJV) All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
For example, correcting someone about the Sabbath keeping when the person does not even understand the concept of baptism would be a FOOLISH thing to do. Or correcting a Pastor about the rapture when he is teaching once saved always saved. Bottom line, we have to carefully choose and correct “primary and current” doctrinal issues before we run correcting every single doctrine someone may have wrong.
2 Timothy 2:23 (KJV) But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
Acts 2:44 (KJV) And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Divisions in the church come because of a lack of correction. They are because of bad doctrine…. UNCORRECTED doctrine! 1 Corinthians 1:10 (KJV) Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord “Jesus” (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Divisions in the church because of doctrine is GOD’s way of saying “Someone is lacking knowledge” or “Someone is too PRIDEFUL to receive knowledge”!
Did anyone by any chance question or was offended by the change or addition of יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach to the name of “Jesus”?
Everything that is questioned or almost anything that offends is usually a lack of understanding or of knowledge, and it does not matter if it’s my lack of knowledge or understanding or anyone else’s. At the end of the day, if someone is incorrect, we should always try to correct them. See Study 28 “An important point about Baptism & name calling” for more details on the name of Jesus. Hosea 4:6 (KJV) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…..
1 Cor 14:20 (KJV) Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
Proverbs 1:5 (KJV) A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
I sound like a broken record, but this is what I keep telling everyone; All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. So, you MUST Study to shew thyself approved unto God, to BECOME a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Scriptures 2 Timothy 3:16 and 2 Timothy 2:15.
I will end with this: Proverbs 27:5 (KJV) Open rebuke is better than secret love. Some Pastors and disciples prefer to be in disobedience to God by avoiding receiving correction or even bringing correction to their loved ones. They prefer to turn a blind eye and allow their loved ones to continue in disobedience to God or even prefer allowing them to go to hell than to burden themselves. They allow their loved ones to stay captive in the devils snare, just because they are afraid of losing friendships or church members.
Wherever we stand in the above statement is what really shows how much we love ourselves more than we love others! I can only imagine Peter or Paul trying to stay away from preaching/correcting others just because they did not want to lose friends or members in the church!
This is plain and simple, no math needed here! Our Lord tell us in John 15:10 (KJV) If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
And you can correct me if I am wrong, but I have not seen anywhere in the gospel any type of “suggestions.” Whenever God tells us to do something, it is a COMMANDMENT, and not a suggestion. So, when He commands us to correct, reproof, instruct, ,,,,, and we DISOBEY, it just means that we are disobedient and disobedience is the same as not abiding in His love! see Study 36“Love and Obedience. The 1stcommandment” to understand how God’s love work.
Here is God’s warning to those who choose not to bring biblical doctrinal correction to other believers!
Ezekiel 33:7-9 (KJV) So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Here is the warning to those that choose NOT to receive correction:
Proverbs 15:31-33 (KJV) The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise 32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding. 33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
Proverbs 12:1 (KJV) Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
And here is some “Tylenol” for the “pain” of being corrected: 😊
Hebrews 12:11 (KJV) Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
