Study 23 - A Good Conscience

HAVING A GOOD CONSCIENCE

…………………………

Study 23. Having a good conscience.

Christ’s sacrifice on the cross should be enough to purge our conscience from dead works, so we can serve the living God.

Hebrews 9:14 (KJV) How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

In the Old Testament, gifts and offerings could not make anyone’s conscience perfect.

Hebrews 9:9 (KJV) Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

The end of the commandment is a good conscience.

1 Timothy 1:5 (KJV) Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

Baptism is the answer to having a good conscience toward God.

1 Peter 3:21 (KJV) The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Christ:

Having a clear conscience because of our faith, for baptism?

Hebrews 10:22 (KJV) Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

We must hold the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

1 Timothy 3:9 (KJV) Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

We are convicted by our own conscience.

John 8:9 (KJV) And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Christ was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

We are to live in good conscience toward God.

Acts 23:1 (KJV) And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

1 Pet 2:19 (KJV) For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

We are to exercise having a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

Acts 24:16 (KJV) And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

1 Timothy 1:19 (KJV) Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: Also in 2 Cor 4:2

Our Conscience bears witness of the work we do.

Romans 2:15 (KJV) Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

Our Conscience bears witness in the Holy Ghost.

Romans 9:1 (KJV) I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,

We should thank God whom we serve with a clear conscience

2 Timothy 1:3 (KJV) I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

If we speak lies in hypocrisy; we will have a bad conscience.

1 Timothy 4:2 (KJV) Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

We should be willing to live honestly to have a good conscience.

Hebrews 13:18 (KJV) Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

Some more scripture toward having a good conscience.

1 Peter 3:16 (KJV) Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ

Salvation is not by having a good conscience alone, there are other things God requires of us.

Faith: 1 Timothy 3:9 (KJV)Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

As Believers, it is important that we have a good conscience toward God as our priority. When we have a good conscience, we have God’s peace.

A good conscience is a necessary quality of purity to be maintained before our pure and Holy God. It is through our personal commitment, devotion, and obedience to Christ, that we are kept within our heavenly Father’s peace, and in His blessing:

Let’s now compare it to John Doe and see how his salvation looks!

All we are looking for is to see whether he is going to be short of salvation or not. This is what we have so far for John Doe: Check mark only the ones that you can verify with scriptures as we go. And add any that he might have missed. Bring your check marks over from prior studies.

ü He believes Christ is the Son of God.

ü He believes Christ died for all our past sins.

ü He believes Christ resurrected 3 days later.

ü He believes that Christ is sitting on the right-hand side of the Father interceding for us!

ü He confessed Christ as Lord and Savior (Through sinner’s prayer).

ü He confessed himself as a sinner (Through sinner’s prayer).

ü He repented of his sins. (Let us just say he truly repented when he believed!)

ü He asked for forgiveness (Through sinner’s prayer).

ü He called upon the Lord into his life (Through sinner’s prayer).

ü He was baptized as a baby, by sprinkle!

ü No Faith (The end of faith is the salvation of the soul). 1 Peter 1:9

X Baptism is needed to get the full assurance of faith. Heb 10:22

ü No Sanctification, because we are sanctified by faith, Acts 26:18

X Did not complete faith because he was not baptized. Heb 10:22

ü NO confession counted toward him. Even though JD confessed his sins through the sinner’s prayer. The gospel tells us that we are to confess our sins while we are being baptized! Matt 3:6, Mark 1:5.

ü A pure conscience: We must hold the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 1 Tim 3:9

o Baptism is the mystery of the faith to having a good conscience toward God. 1 Peter 3:21.

These are the things that are questionable in John Doe’s walk, so you must decide whether he has covered that area or not.

o He must believe that Christ is the “only begotten” Son of God. John 3:18, Acts 8:37.

o He must believe in the Son and the Father. John 5:24, John 6:47.

o He must believe that God the Father raised Christ from the dead. Rom 10:9, 1 Thes 4:14.

o We have learned that the scriptures actually tell us that our salvation is nearer the moment we believe, and because we believe that Christ is the only begotten Son of God and believe in the name of the son of God, and believe in the Father as well as the Son, we become sealed with God’s promise of salvation until the day we are saved!

o We also see that Baptism may be as important as believing Mark 16:16.

This opens more questions.

* Is baptism Necessary for salvation?

* Is repentance the same as a change of mind, or something deeper?

* If we need to be baptized, does it have to be with water?

* Does Baptism have a purpose and a meaning or is it really just an outward expression of faith?

* Do we have to be baptized in the correct way?

* Are works needed to show repentance?

* Are works needed for salvation?

* We must repent to be converted. Acts 3:19, what is conversion?

Notes: Bring your check marks over from prior studies.

¨ By believing, John Doe is not saved ONLY NEARER to salvation and has been sealed with God’s promise of salvation until all of God’s conditions are met! Rom 13:11, Eph 1:30, Eph 4:30.

¨ By repenting, JD is being obedient to God. Mark 1:15, Acts 2:38

¨ If we don’t repent, we will not receive salvation. Luke 13:3, Luke 13:5, Revelation 2:16, Rev 2:22, Rev 3:3

¨ No Faith (The end of faith is the salvation of the soul). 1 Peter 1:9

X Baptism is needed to get the full assurance of faith. Heb 10:22

¨ No Sanctification, because we are sanctified by faith, Acts 26:18

¨ X Did not complete faith because he was not baptized. Heb 10:22

¨ JD is not sanctified, because we are sanctified by faith, and he is short of faith, because baptism is needed to get the full assurance of faith! Acts 26:18, Heb 10:22.

¨ No saving grace, because we are saved by grace through faith, Eph 2:8

(Questionable) Because of his lack of faith/obedience, JD did not get baptized. Being disobedient to God by not being baptized. Questionable only because he was already baptized but as a baby.

o No confession, because confessing being a sinner and baptism go together, and JD was not baptized as an adult. Also, because JD was too small to even know what confessing or sin is. Matt 3:6, Mark 1:5.

o No clear conscience toward God. Because Baptism is the answer of a good conscience toward God. 1 Peter 3:21

Do you agree, yes or no?

REMISSION OF SINS

…………………………

Study 24. Remission of sins in the bible:

(Answer to Question #4) Do we need remission of sins for salvation and, how do we attain it?

Christs’ sacrifice on the cross was for the remission of sins.

Matthew 26:28 (KJV) For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

And without His sacrifice, there would be no remission of sins.

Hebrews 9:22 (KJV) And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

John baptized in the wilderness and preached the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Mark 1:4 (KJV)John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Also found in Luke 3:3

Remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations.

Luke 24:47 (KJV) And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Once remission of sins is given, God will not remember them anymore.

Hebrews 10:17-18 (KJV) And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Remission of sins that are past (not future) through the forbearance of God. (not to be confused with forgiveness of sins).

Romans 3:25 (KJV)Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Nowhere in the word of God does is say that we have already received remission of our sins, because of Christs sacrifice on the cross. Neither does it say that we automatically receive the remission of our sins when we believe or have faith!

Remission and forgiveness are two different things!

When God forgives someone, it does NOT mean He forgets it ever happened.

When we receive remission of sins it means God let’s go as if it NEVER happened! (He will NOT count that against us!)

We must learn that there are reasons for the rules God gives us.

“Remission” means “the cancellation of a debt, charge, or penalty”.

“Forgive” means “to stop feeling angry or resentful toward someone for an offence, flaw, or mistake”.

The Biblical definition of Remission is to be released from bondage or imprisonment; forgiveness or pardon of sins, letting them go as if they had never been committed, remission of the penalty.

Remission of sins is NOT automatic, there are other things God requires of us in order to receive it.

Baptism: Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Faith (Sanctification “by faith”): Acts 26:18 (KJV) To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Believe: Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Repentance: Luke 3:3 (KJV) And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

Without Remission of sins, a person can NOT be born again and therefore that person will not be saved. In other words, there is NO salvation! Unless Christ shows Himself in person to them before they die and saves them in person! Just like the thief in the cross. We will speak about the Thief on the cross in the “Baptism” study.

What happened to the commandment to preach remission of sins Luke 24:47?

Why is the church preaching forgiveness of sins and NOT teaching and preaching remission of sins like Christ commanded us to do so?

Luke 24:47 (KJV) And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Well, I will answer you this one right now!

Itis very simple. Satan has had his workers of iniquity change that commandment word.

Jehovah witness’s bible says: Luke 24:47 and on the basis of his name, repentance for forgiveness of sins+ would be preached in all the nations+—starting out from Jerusalem.

The Catholic bible says: Luke 24:47 and that in his name repentance and forgiveness of sins are to be proclaimed

They have changed the word remission to forgiveness. But so have other bibles! You better check your bible, because there is a great chance that you have change it also!

Luke 24:47 NIV and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached…

Luke 24:47 ESVthat repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed Luke 24:47 NLT that repentance [a]for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed

Remission G859= Greek Word ἄφεσις

Transliteration: aphesis

Strongs Definition: freedom; (figuratively) pardon

Thayers Definition

1. release from bondage or imprisonment

2. forgiveness or pardon, of sins (letting them go as if they had never been committed), remission of the penalty

When you do a King James concordance check for the word “remission” You will find that it is used in 10 different places. Matt 26:28, Mark 1:4, Luke 1:77, Luke 3:3, Luke 24:47, Acts 2:38, Acts 10:43, Rom 3:25, Heb 9:22, Heb 10:18.

When you do a New International Version NIV concordance check, you will NOT find the use of the word remission, but it says: (KJV) see forgiveness.

Now, why would the NIV use the KJV as reference? Unless they know the KJV is correct!

You will ALSO find the word “remission” changed to “Forgiveness” on the NLT, ESV, CSB, NRSV, NASV, NRSVCE, Etc.

Read Bible truth or religious poison Study.

That is where you see the importance of having a HOLY BIBLE!

Would you rather read poison because it is easier to read, or would you rather have to do some work by using a real Holy bible, a dictionary, and a concordance to better understand the truth of God instead of having to fight through the lies?

In the second chapter of Acts, Peter had convicted the people there of having killed the Son of God. In verse 37 their question was, "Men and brethren what shall we do?" In verse 38 (KJV), "Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of your sins." Here people were told to repent and be baptized for the remission of their sins.  Only when we submit to water baptism as the Lord has commanded, that is for the remission of sins for salvation, do we show our faith in the Lord.  Only then will he remit our sins that are PAST. Rom 3:25 (KJV) ……….to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

We must be baptized in order to receive the remission for our sins.

Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Since Adams fall, humanity has always had a sin problem. It is our sins that separate us from God. We are to repent and be baptized for the remission of our sins. This is God's instruction on how we solve our sin problem. In the above verse, when Peter told them to "Repent and be baptized for the remission of sins," whatever repentance is for in that verse, baptism is for the same reason.

Repent and be baptized are joined words as of equal importance. Certainly Acts 2:38does not teach that lost people are to “repent” because they have already received forgiveness of their sins. Neither does it teach that lost people are to be “baptized” because their sins are also already forgiven.

Satan would like you to believe that baptism has nothing to do with the remission of your sins.

God’s propitiation through faith is to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins.

Rom 3:25 (KJV)Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins. In other words, salvation is by the remission of their sins.

Luke 1:77 (KJV) To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

Remission of sins is to be preached among all Nations.

Luke 24:47 (KJV) And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Those which are sanctified may receive forgiveness of sins.

Acts 26:18 (KJV) To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Remission of sins is given to all that believe.

Acts 10:43 (KJV) To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Remission of sins comes after believing.

Acts 10:43 (KJV) To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Have you been baptized for the forgiveness of your sins, instead of being baptized for the remission of your sins?

Or have you been just baptized without purpose.

Again, the choice is yours; either believe what God has said or believe what men say and continue to be lost. We only have two choices, and the wrong choice will have eternal consequences. But please make the right choice.

Let’s now compare it to John Doe and see how his salvation looks!

All we are looking for is to see whether he is going to be short of salvation or not. This is what we have so far for John Doe: Check mark only the ones that you can verify with scriptures as we go. And add any that he might have missed. Bring your check marks over from prior studies.

ü A pure conscience: We must hold the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 1 Tim 3:9

o Baptism is the mystery of the faith to having a good conscience toward God. 1 Peter 3:21.

ü Remission of sins comes after believing. Acts 10:43

ü Remission of sins is received through baptism. Acts 2:38.

ü We need to receive remission of our past sins, and not future and not to be confused with forgiveness of sins. Rom 3:25

ü Once remission of sins is given, God will not remember them anymore. Heb 10:17-18

ü No remission of sins. Because JD was not baptized. Water baptism is done in order to receive remission of sins. Acts 2:38.

These are the things that are questionable in John Doe’s walk, so you must decide whether he has covered that area or not.

WATER BAPTISM

Is it just an outward expression of our faith

or

will anyone without baptism end up in hell?

…………………………

Study 25. Baptism in the bible

(Answer to Question #5) Why does the bible say, baptism also saves us in 1 Peter 3:21?

Pastor X’s answer: 1 Peter 3:21 (NIV) “Baptism also now save us” does not mean that water baptism is essential to salvation, since it cannot wash away the filth of the flesh. Baptism shows the answer of a good conscious toward God. In other words, baptism is a conscious testimony to one’s faith to the resurrection of Christ because it symbolizes our resurrection with Him.

We need to verify what the Pastor said, for example, the NIV says, 1 Peter 3:21, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Christ,

Synonyms of pledge: a promise, vow, oath, guarantee, assurance.

In other words, the Pastor or bibles are saying: that water baptism symbolizes the “promise” of a clear conscience toward God.

But is that what the word of God really says?

The Greek word used in 1 Pet 3:21 is NOT “PLEDGE”.

The Greek Word used here is ἐπερώτημα.

Transliteration eperōtēma

Bible Usage = answer.

Thayers Definition

1. an enquiry, a question

2. a demand

3. earnestly seeking

a. craving, an intense desire

Origin From G1905

Very, very different word and meanings! The NIV has changed the word of God! The NASB, NCV, CEV, NLT also changes the word.

1 Peter 3:21 (KJV) The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Christ:

But in reality, those who try and use 1 Peter 3:21 to say that baptism is only and outward expression of our faith, chose to ignore the verse prior to verse 21.

When you put those two verses together, the word of God is telling us that just the same way Noah and his family were saved by water, the same way we are also now saved by water during baptism.

1 Peter 3:20-21 (KJV) Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Christ:

(Answer to Question #6) John Doe asked. Why does the NIV and NLT do not have the word remission and instead change it to forgiveness? When in forgiveness: you forgive, but you still remember and in remission you forget and let go as it never happened!

To understand why other bibles, say something very different than the KJV, We recommend watching the following YouTube video:

Lev 22:6(KJV)“shall be unclean until even, unless he wash his flesh with water.”

Ezekiel 36:25-26 (KJV)“will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean:”

Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 3:25 (KJV) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

This part is closely connected to the concept of a clear conscience.
When we receive the remission of our past sins, we experience the new birth — becoming new creatures in Christ, free from our PAST sins.
At that very moment, our conscience is clear, because sin, as a non-believer has been removed. Thus, a clear conscience is both the result and evidence of being made new through the remission we receive during baptism.

We are commanded to baptize all nations.

Matthew 28:19 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

We are to baptize in the name of the Father, Son & of the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 28:19 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Even though Paul refers to Peter speaking TWICE about baptizing in the name of Christ in Acts 2:38 andActs 8:12, we must understand that neither Paul nor Peter is suggesting that baptism should be done using only the name of Christ. After all, before ascending to heaven, Christ clearly commanded the apostles and disciples to baptize "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" (Matthew 28:19, KJV).

Even though Christ Himself has been used as the full expression of God. It’s obvious to include the name of the Father, the name of the Son, and the name of the Holy Ghost during baptism.

The gospel teaches that Christ came not in His own authority, but in the authority of the Father (John 5:43), and that the Holy Spirit was sent by both the Father and the Son (John 14:26; 15:26).
So when Paul or Peter call on the name of Christ, they’re not separating Him from the Father or the Holy Ghost — they're acknowledging the importance and the POWER the real name of Christ has.

Once again, so not to forget, Christ specifically commanded in Matthew 28:19 to baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost — all in the same sentence. All together. It does not state to baptize either in the name of the Father OR the Son OR the Holy Ghost.

Baptizing in the name of all three as Christ commanded shows that the three are united as one, not divided. And it is understood that this includes the fullness of what Christ taught in Matt 28:19.

Therefore, when Paul or others mention baptizing "in the name of Christ," they are invoking all the authority, power, and unity of the Trinity — just using the name of whom God sent to save this world, John 3:16.

Think of it also like this: we all know that a basic pizza is made of dough, sauce, and cheese. When you go to a restaurant, you don’t ask for "dough, sauce, and cheese" — you simply order a pizza, knowing that all three ingredients are included. So, when someone does not know what a pizza is, you will explain and only after will you use the main name “pizza” in your conversations. But when you work on an actual pizza you use all the ingredients with their individual names, you don’t say, I’m using pizza and pizza and pizza.

Here are a couple more examples just for fun.

Coffee (at a café) You order a "coffee," but you’re getting coffee beans, water, a cup, a lid, maybe cream or sugar — all included in that one name.

A salad — You just ask for a salad, but it usually includes lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, dressing, and maybe even cheese or croutons. all included in that one name.

A burger — Same idea. You order a "burger," and you're getting a bun, patty, lettuce, tomato, pickles, condiments — not listing them all individually. all included in that one name.

A car — When you buy or rent a car, you're getting an engine, tires, seats, brakes, lights, mirrors, and so much more. You don't list all the pieces—you just say, " that one name."

Baptism comes after believing.

Acts 16:33 (KJV) And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

Acts 16:31-33 (KJV) And they said, Believe on the Lord Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 32And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

John (the Baptist) Baptized with water.

Matt 3:6 (KJV) And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

The disciples baptized with water.

Acts 8:36-38 (KJV) And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Christ is the Son of God. 38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

Acts 22:16 (KJV) And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

In case you anyone asks, how many different baptisms are there, and which one do we use! One baptism with everything attached to it!

Eph 4:5 (KJV) One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Baptism saves.

1 Peter 3:21 (KJV) The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Christ:

Mark 16:16 (KJV) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Also found in Titus 3:5,

Except we are born again (water baptized) we cannot enter the kingdom of God.

John 3:5 (KJV) Christ answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Mark 1:4 (KJV)John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Also found in Matt 3:6

Keeping the above statement in mind, we have a story that show the importance of performing the baptism in the correct way.

Here we have a story on when some of the apostles where baptizing only for the remission of sins and not for the indwelling of the Holy Ghost, Peter and John were sent immediately to correct and make sure that those that had already been baptized only for the remission of sins received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 8:12 (KJV) But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. 14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Christ.) 17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

After baptism we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:38 (KJV)Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

We have also already gone through this and have verified that Salvation is not by water baptism alone, there are other things God requires of us.

Believing, study #17: Acts 8:36-38 (KJV) And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Christ is the Son of

God. 38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

Calling the name of the Lord out loud, study #18: Acts 22:16 (KJV) And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Repentance, study #19: Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Also found in Mark 1:4, Luke 3:3,

Faith, study #20: Col 2:12 (KJV) Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Confession of Christ and sins, study #22: Matt 3:6 (KJV) And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

Water: Num 19:7-9 (KJV) … “for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.”

Now think about this verse Again: Luke 13:23-24 (KJV)Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

“Many will seek and shall not be able”.

This is mostly due to blindness and lack of knowledge in the word of God. It is due to lies and indoctrination. It is brought by Satan through unbiblical teachings by our family members, friends, pastors, ancestors, and their customs.

We need to put everything aside (just like the Bereans), especially pride and question every teaching and accept ONLY the truth that Christ has for us.

We need to turn away from the infinity of lies Satan has for us.

Hosea 4:6 (KJV) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

IMPORTANT POINT HERE!

The least case scenario is that waiting to get baptized only makes a person disobedient until they get baptized. Remember in Matthew 28:19 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them ……. Well; this is a commandment directly from Christ, NOT to be taken lightly!

It is NOT a suggestion!

The comment most people will say is “the thief on the cross was not baptized, therefore baptism is not necessary for salvation!”

Luke 23:43 (KJV) And Christ said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, to day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

The biblical answer is:

Well, they were saved directly by Christ! HE DOES NOT HAVE TO BAPTIZE ANYONE; HE IS THE SON OF GOD! If He says you are saved, then you are saved. PERIOD!

And if that is not enough common sense, well, the gospel is very clear and tells us that Christ DID NOT baptize at all! John 4:2 (KJV) (Though Christ himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

Second, The Holy Spirit was sent after Christ was glorified, so the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins (Mark 1:4, Luke 3:3) started with John the Baptist and continued with the apostles (Acts 2:38). But the baptism for the indwelling of the Holy ghost was after and not before or during Christ’s ministry on earth (Acts 1:5, Mark 1:8, Acts 2:38)!

So, if Christ would not have been there, then the apostles would have had to bring the thief down from the cross and baptized him in order for him to have received remission for his sins!

John 7:39 (KJV) (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Christ was not yet glorified.)

John 14:16 (KJV) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

John 15:26 (KJV) But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: also, John 16:7

(Answer to Question #7) Is baptism an outward expression of an inward change? Is it a public declaration of how Christ changed your life? According to Pastor X, being baptized only shows others that you have decided to follow Christ, and allows them to celebrate this decision with you, they quote (Acts 16:31-34).

Most preachers dare to say that baptism does not save a person; they say it’s only a symbol and celebration of our faith and or salvation, and they quote (1 Peter 3:21).
1 Peter 3:21 (KJV), "The like figure whereunto even baptism does also now save us."

The Gospel says that "baptism does now also save us," but men turn their blind eye and say that "baptism does not save us."

This is all very similar to the situation of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

God in Genesis 2:17 told Adam and Eve not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, "For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." But Satan told Eve in Genesis 3:4, "Then the serpent said to the woman, you will not surely die." Satan only added the one word "not" to what God had said and completely changed the meaning of God’s commandment!
That is exactly what men are doing to God's commands today. Who are you going to accept, the word of men or the Word of God?

We are told in Acts 5:29, "We ought to obey God rather than men."

On the Day of Judgment, the Bible will still say that "baptism does ALSO now save us."

Baptism is in fact 1 Peter 3:21 “the answer of a good conscience towards God.”

Christ himself also tells us that we hold our faith in a pure conscience: 1 Tim 3:9 (KJV) Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

Our Conscience bears witness in the Holy Ghost. Rom 9:1 (KJV) I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,

Our Conscience bears witness of the work we do. Rom 2:15 (KJV) Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

We should thank God whom we serve with a clear conscience 2 Tim 1:3 (KJV) I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

You see, this is all connected to water baptism!

1 Peter 3:21 (KJV) The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Christ:

Are you starting to see the whole picture? Can you see now that there is more to salvation than by believing alone or by faith alone?

(Answer to Question #8) Baptism becomes the answer of a good conscience toward God, because the remission of our sins happens through baptism! Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

So, we receive two things during water baptism. We receive remission for our sins, and we receive the Holy Ghost (indwelling of the Holy Ghost).

Yeshua’s sacrifice on the cross was for the remission of our sins. Mat 26:28. For sins that are past (not future) through the forbearance of God. Rom 3:25.

Salvation is a gift from God. But even though salvation is a gift from God, He has laid down certain conditions upon which he will give it. There is nothing that we can do to merit salvation. Whether it be believing in Christ, doing the works of God, or being baptized, we can never "earn our salvation". The only way we can show our faith in Christ is if we are willing to accept and obey what He says.  But it is after all the requirements are met, that God has chosen to impart his wonderful grace of salvation to us as a willing believer.

Just in case the main point was missed! Let us try to answer one of the most important questions to anyone’s salvation; Is water baptism so important and essential to salvation, that anyone that DOES NOT get water baptized will end up in hell?

Try and answer all the questions by yourself, giving the proper scripture to back up your answers! Do not flip the page until you have all of the answers!

1. What is remission of sins and what is it for?

2. When and how do we attain the remission of our sins?

3. How many times can remission of sins happen in our life?

4. Give an example of what to do to receive remission of sins?

5. What is forgiveness of sins and what is it for?

6. When and how do we attain forgiveness of our sins?

7. How many times can we receive forgiveness of sins?

8. Give an example of what to do to receive forgiveness of sins!

9. Is there a difference between remission and forgiveness? Yes, or No? Please explain!

10. What does Water baptism do for a person?

11. Can a person that has not received remission of sins enter into the kingdom of heaven?

12. Can a person without water baptism enter into the kingdom of heaven?

Here are the answers:

1. What is remission of sins and what is it for?

Strongs Number: G859. Strongs Definition: freedom; (figuratively) Pardon.

A pardon as it never happened. Remission is the cancellation of a debt, charge, or penalty.

God gives us the remission of our sins to completely pardon or erase our PAST sins! Romans 3:25. Hebrews 10:17-18. Past sins ONLY!

When we receive remission of sins it means God let’s go as if it NEVER happened! (He will NOT count that against us!), in other words, when we come to accept Christ as Lord and Savior, we start fresh right after baptism as part of His family, just like newborn children.

2. When and how do we attain the remission of our sins?

It is ONLY attained during water baptism Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16, John 3:5,

3. How many times can remission of sins happen in our life?

Only once and during water baptism Romans 3:25. Hebrews 10:17-18.

4. Give an example of what to do to receive remission of sins?

You have to do all that God requires as a big package:

You believe the Gospel! Mark 1:15

You believe that Christ is the only begotten son of God! John 3:18, Acts 8:37.

You believe in the Father and the Son! John 5:24, John 6:47.

You believe God the Father raised Christ from the dead! Rom 10:9, 1 Thes 4:14.

You repent of your sins! Mark 16:16, Luke 13:13, Acts 17:30.

You confess you are a sinner! Matt 3:6, Mark 1:5.

You call upon the Lord (audible)? Romans 10:9-13, Acts 2:21.

You get water baptized Acts 2:38, Mark 1:4,

5. What is forgiveness of sins and what is it for?

Strongs Number: G859. Strongs Definition: freedom; (figuratively) Pardon.

It is what God gives a person every time after they have repented and asked for forgiveness after they have sinned.

6. When and how do we attain forgiveness of our sins?

Every time you sin, repent, ask for forgiveness and do works meet for repentance! Acts 26:20.

7. How many times can we receive forgiveness of sins?

Only once and during baptism. As long as it is done the way God requires!

8. Give an example of what to do to receive forgiveness of sins!

Open your eyes and turn from darkness Acts 26:18.

Repent and turn to God and do works meet for repentance Acts 26:20.

Forgive men their trespasses Matthew 6:14, Matt 18:35, Mark 11:25, Luke 6:37, Luke 11:4.

9. Is there a difference between remission and forgiveness? Please explain!

Yes!

*Even though most new age bibles have replaced the word remission with forgiveness, there is a huge difference between both words. Everyone that receives remission for their sins also receives forgiveness, but when a person receives only forgiveness for their sins, they will not receive remission. Remission is like having your criminal record expunged so that no one can see or will know you had committed a crime!

The difference is not so much clearly seen on the definition, but how the word of God tells us it is used for!

And for this, you have to go and read the verses that have the word remission to understand that it is more than just being forgiven!

10. What does Water baptism do for a person?

It is the only way we receive the INDWELLING of the Holy Ghost.Acts 8:16.

Physical water, through baptism is the physical means God chose to use to purify spiritual sin! Num 19:7-9, Acts 22:16, Exo 29:4-9, Exo 30:20, Exo 30:21, Lev 22:6, Ezekiel 36:25-26,

It is the only action we take on where we receive the remission of our sins Acts 2:38.

It also saves us (1 Peter 3:21). It also saves us because that is not the only requirement for salvation. Believing in Christ also saves us, and like Repenting also saves us. It’s a package deal and all the requirements have to be met for God to give us His promised salvation!

During water baptism our sins are remitted, and because of this our conscience is now clear, thus becoming the answer of a good conscience toward God 1 Peter 3:21, Titus 3:5, Hebrews 10:22,

Through water baptism a person is reborn again. John 3:5,

11. Can a person that has not received remission of sins enter into the kingdom of heaven?

No! Without remission of sins, you are still a sinner!

John 20:23 (KJV) Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

Without remission of sins, you cannot receive the indwelling of the Holy Ghost! Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

If you answered Yes, please tell us why and back it up with scriptures!

12. Can a person that has NOT been water baptized enter into the kingdom of heaven?

No! John 3:5 (KJV) Christ answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

If you answered Yes, please tell us why and back it up with scriptures!

How does God fix the many baptisms?

Eph 4:5 (KJV) One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

For Example, Baptism for the remission of sins and the baptism for the indwelling of the Holy Ghost is done during the one baptism!

Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Mark 1:8 (KJV) I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

Acts 19:3-6 (KJV) And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Christ.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

(We can now cancel this one, because we must be old enough to believe, to confess, and to repent)

ü No Faith (The end of faith is the salvation of the soul).

1 Peter 3:21.

ü Remission of sins comes after believing. Acts 10:43

ü Remission of sins is received through baptism. Acts 2:38.

ü We need to receive remission of our past sins, and not future and not to be confused with forgiveness of sins. Rom 3:25

ü Once remission of sins is given, God will not remember them anymore. Heb 10:17-18

ü No remission of sins. Because JD was not baptized. Water baptism is done in order to receive remission of sins. Acts 2:38.

ü We are buried with Christ in baptism. Col 2:12

ü Baptisms are performed with water. Acts 8:36-38, Acts 22:16, Matt 3:6, Col 2:12.

ü Physical water has always been used for the purification of sins. Num 19:7-9

ü Confession and Baptism go together Matt 3:6

ü Baptism saves us. Mark 16:16, 1 Peter 3:21

ü Except we are born again (water baptized) we cannot enter the kingdom , Titus 3:5

ü After baptism we receive the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

ü We are to baptize in the name of the Father, Son & of the Holy Ghost Matt 28:19

Rom 10:9, 1 Thes 4:14.

o We have learned that the scriptures actually tell us that our salvation is nearer the moment we believe, and because we believe that Christ Christ is the only begotten Son of God and believe in the name of the son of God, and believe in the Father as well as the Son, we become sealed with God’s promise of salvation until the day we are saved!

o We also see that Baptism may be as important as believing Mark 16:16.

This opens more questions.

* Is baptism Necessary for salvation? YES 1 Peter 3:21, Mark 16:16

* Is repentance the same as a change of mind, or something deeper?

* If we need to be baptized, does it have to be with water? YES Acts 8:36-38

* Does Baptism have a purpose and a meaning or is it really just an outward expression of faith?

o Yes, baptism is done for the remission of sins and the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38.

* Do we have to be baptized in the correct way? YES Acts 22:16, Matt 3:6, etc

Matt 3:6, Mark 1:5.

o No clear consciencetoward God. Because Baptism is the answer of a good conscience toward God. 1 Peter 3:21

o No remission of sins. Because JD was not baptized. Water baptism is done in order to receive remission of sins. Acts 2:38.

o No Faith (The end of faith is the salvation of the soul). 1 Peter 1:9

X Baptism is needed to get the full assurance of faith. Heb 10:22

o No baptism, No remission of his past sins, No clear conscience. 1 Peter 3:21,

o JD died a sinner in the eyes of God.

o John Doe Did not make it into Heaven!

Do you agree, yes or no?

Making a final point or reminder on Baptism.

What do we know about disobedience or what can we learn?

Obedience is the practical acceptance of the authority and will of God. It includes submitting to Him and then expressing that submission in actions, words, and thoughts. To be obedient is to be in agreement with God. To be in agreement and obedient to God and His commandments is to love God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.

The only way to keep the first commandment is to love God, and the only way to love God is by being obedient to His commandments. There is no other way around it. It is a plain and simple circle. You will learn this in study #35.

The biblical truth is that if you wait to be baptized and die before you get baptized apart from being disobedient for whatever time you waited, you will end up not saved or nicely put “in hell”.

Because during water baptism is where you receive remission of sins, and JD did not get to it; it just means He died a sinner. NOT SAVED!

In the book of Acts, we have the account of the conversion of the Apostle Paul. In Acts chapter 9, Paul is traveling on the road up to Damascus to persecute Christians. The Lord appears to Paul on the road and strikes him blind. In verse 5 He tells Paul, "I am Christ whom you are persecuting." In verse 6 Paul asks, "Lord what do you want me to do? Then the Lord said to Paul, arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do." The Lord did not tell Paul what he must do, but that someone in the city would tell him what he must do.

In Acts 9:9, after Paul went into the city, "And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank. He had just found out that all the years in his zeal while persecuting the Lord's church, he had actually been persecuting the Lord. Paul was most likely overwhelmed and broken-hearted in finding out that he had been wrong all these years.

Let's see now what Paul was told to what he must do. In Acts chapter 22, a man named Ananias, who was sent by the Lord, came to Paul, and miraculously restored Paul's eyesight. Notice what Paul was told by Ananias what he must do. Acts 22:16, "And now why are you waiting? Arise, and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord."

Paul’s sins had not been remitted three days earlier while on the road to Damascus, as Satan would like for us to believe. Paul up to this point was still lost, because he still had all his sins that needed to be washed away. Paul still had a sin problem.

Obedience to the Lord's command to be baptized was necessary to wash away Paul's sins. At the point of water baptism every sin that we have ever committed will be taken away (remitted, erased), BUT it must be done for that purpose.

Again, have you been baptized for the purpose of having your sins completely erased/washed away? If you have not, then you still have a sin problem and therefore you are still lost, and the Holy Spirit is not indwelling within you!

Paul was not told "to pray the sinner’s prayer and ask Christ to come into his heart in order to be saved." This is foreign to the scripture. You cannot find anywhere in the Bible where anyone was ever told to do this. Since God in the Bible has never told anyone "To pray and ask Christ to come into your heart in order to be saved", who else but Satan could have come up with such an idea?

Remission of your sins occurs in the mind of God and not based on man's feeling in his heart.

Only when we have done what God has said that we must do, will God remit our sins. We cannot devise our own plan as to how our sins are to be remitted. Paul believed as soon as our Lord confronted him, but he was not saved at that moment.

THE HOLY GHOST

Ruach Hakodesh

…………………………

Study 26. What about the Holy Ghost?

(Answer to Questions #9, #10 and #11) Pastor X says that the incident of Acts 19 is “unique”.

The only thing unique here is the LIE that Pastor X just told JD. And sadly, many people that are seeking Christ (יהושוע Joshua Hamashiach) and eternal salvation have fallen for those lies and are in danger of having a permanent vacation in hell due to the UNIQUE LIES that Satan has been using to indoctrinate God’s children through his workers of iniquity.

Luke 13:23-24 (KJV) Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

The only reason anybody falls for all this bunch of lies, is because they barely read their bibles, and those that do, will fail to study it, and verify everything they are told by their Pastors. So, when someone comes with something different than what they have heard from their Pastors, they quickly dismiss it.

2 Tim 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto YHWH, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.,

2 Tim 3:16 (KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of YHWH, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

You need to read your bible, study it, and put it all together!

You need to be able to fit everything together without any contradictions.

If you find contradictions, then either your Pastor does not know the truth, is lying to you, or if you do not have a pastor, then it is either a misunderstanding on your part or your BIBLE is lying to you!

Have you verified your bible? Where does it come from?

Who wrote it or put it together?

The NIV is the English translated version of the Catholic Bible done by Scholars under the leadership of Howard Long (a Catholic Scholar). Google has deleted and changed most information on this, making it harder to see the truth. But you can still google New International Version Howard Long Catholic scholar.

Or go to the following link. https://www.thenivbible.com/50th-anniversary/made-to-read/howard-long/

Tyndale is pleased to announce the NLT Catholic Holy Bible Readers Edition, approved by the Catholic Church for reading and study and including the official Imprimatur. The Bible includes the New Living Translation text with deuterocanonical books.

Did you know that the NAB, ESV, NABRE, NASB, NRSBare also all Catholic approved edition bibles?

So here is the correction to the Pastors UNIQUE answer!

I will explain it first and then back it up with a scripture!

1. We should already know by now that we are baptized for the remission of sins!

a. So, we receive remission of our sins by baptism!

2. We are baptized for the indwelling of the Holy Ghost!

a. Laying of hands and prayer must happen after the baptism in order to receive the Holy Ghost!

b. So, we receive the indwelling of the Holy Ghost after baptism, laying of hands and prayer!

We receive the Holy Ghost through:

Baptism:

Matthew 3:11 (KJV) I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Mark 1:8 (KJV) I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

Luke 3:16 (KJV) John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghostand with fire:

John 1:33 (KJV) And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

Acts 1:5 (KJV) For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Acts 11:15-16 (KJV) And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. 16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Another question some people may bring up is. “Why was Christ baptized if baptism is for the remission of sins. Christ had no sin to be forgiven. In other words, He had no need to receive remission of any sins!” Well, Christ’s baptism was to show us how it must be done AND was done for the receiving of the Holy Ghost!

Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Look at what happened after “Christ” ((יהושוע) Joshua Hamashiach) was baptized! (He received the Holy Ghost!)

Luke 3:22 (KJV) And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Matthew 3:16 (KJV)And Christ, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Mark 1:10 (KJV) And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

John 1:32 (KJV) And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

Christ received the Holy Ghost through water baptism!

This goes back to the thief on the cross question, answered on the baptism study!

Disciples ran to other cities to make sure, new believers received the Holy Ghost after baptism!

Acts 8:1-25 (KJV) And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial and made great lamentation over him.

3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

8 And there was great joy in that city.

9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of god.

11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of YHWH, and the name of Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of YHWH, they sent unto them Peter and John:

15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord (יהושוע) Joshua Hamashiach).

17 Then laidthey their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of YHWH may be purchased with money.

21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of YHWH.

22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray YHWH, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

12 Disciples received the Holy Ghost through baptism and laying of hands performed by Paul the Apostle.

Scripture even shows us that some disciples (Not just believers) were baptized twice. And we know that by Paul’s time Christ had already ascended to heaven.

Acts 19:2-6 (KJV) He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord (יהושוע) Joshua Hamashiach). And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Requirements to receive the Holy Ghost:

Repentance: Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Remission of sins through baptism: Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Prayer: Acts 8:15 (KJV) Who, when they were come down, prayedfor them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

Laying of hands:

Acts 8:17 (KJV) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 8:18 (KJV) And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

Acts 8:19 (KJV) Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

Believing, Repentance, Baptism, Laying of hands:

Acts 19:2-6 (KJV) He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on (יהושוע) Joshua Hamashiach). 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord (יהושוע) Joshua). 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues and prophesied.

JD also DID NOT receive the indwelling of the Holy Ghost, because he was not baptized!

Do you agree, yes or no?

REFUTING CONTRADICTIONS TO:

“Anyone who dies without the proper water baptism after reaching the age of accountability will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”

-THE COMPLETE MAP TO SALVATION-

…………………………………….

From: Zion’s Roar Holy Spirit Ministry Biblical Studies archive –

Salvation 101 – A corrected doctrine. The Narrow Path of Obedience

Refuting Common Contradictions to the Statement:

“Anyone who dies without the proper water baptism after reaching the age of accountability will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”

PART 1: FOUNDATIONAL DOCTRINES OF SALVATION

⚔️ CONTRADICTION #1: "The thief on the cross wasn't baptized, and he was saved."

❌ Claim: Christ told the thief, "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43) — proving baptism isn't necessary.

✅ Biblical Refutation:
This event occurred before Pentecost, before the New Covenant, and before Christ was glorified. At that time: scriptures

  • The new gospel had not yet been      preached.
  • The Holy Ghost had not yet been given.

· The command to be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38) had not yet been established. Acts 2:38 – “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

John 4:2 – “(Though Christ himself baptized not, but his disciples.)”
John 7:39 – “...for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Christ was not yet glorified.”
Luke 5:24 – “...the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins...”

The thief was saved directly by Christ Himself, who alone has the power to forgive sins at His word. Christ is the only begotten Son of God—He is not bound to the process He later gave to mankind. When He declares someone saved, they are saved. Period.

But we are not Christ.

Since Pentecost, the gospel has been fully revealed, and salvation now requires obedience to His command:

Acts 2:38 – “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

We cannot claim the thief's exception while ignoring Christ’s instruction. Exceptions never invalidate commands. God expects obedience, not excuses.

❓ Objection: “Why was Christ baptized if He had no sin to be forgiven?”

Another common comment and question is: The thief did not get baptized and was a sinner and Christ got baptized and had no sin. That proves that baptism is not necessary for salvation. If baptism is truly necessary for the remission of sins, and Christ had no sin, why was He baptized if it was not just for an outward expression of faith?

✅ Biblical Response:

Christ’s baptism was not for the remission of sins—for He had none—but to fulfill righteousness and to receive the Holy Ghost, establishing the divine pattern for all who would follow Him.

Acts 2:38 – “...Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Christ did not need forgiveness, not because He was unclean, but to show us the order and example we must follow. Plus He did receive the Holy Ghost at baptism—

Luke 3:22 (KJV) – “And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him...”
Matthew 3:16 (KJV) – “...and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him...”
Mark 1:10 (KJV) – “...the Spirit like a dove descending upon him...”
John 1:32 (KJV) – “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.”

This was no coincidence. Through water baptism, Christ publicly received the Holy Ghost. In doing so, He gave us a living demonstration of what would later be commanded:

Once again. Acts 2:38 – Be baptized “for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

🔥Apostles and the Holy Ghost — A Common Misunderstanding Corrected

Even the apostles received the indwelling of the Holy Ghost before the Day of Pentecost—and they received it without being baptized. After Christ’s ascension, they were led by the Spirit, not because they waited until Pentecost, but because Christ Himself had already given it to them before the gospel instructions of Acts 2:38 were put into effect.

This is similar to the thief on the cross. He did not need to be baptized to receive remission of sins because he received it directly from Christ. In the same way, the apostles received the Holy Ghost directly from Christ—before baptism for the remission of sins was established.

John 20:21-22 (KJV) – “Then said Christ to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
And when he had said this, He breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost.”

This was the moment of impartation—the indwellingof the Holy Ghost. And they received it without water baptism, because Christ Himself imparted it unto them.

🗡️ Conclusion: We must never base doctrine on rare exceptions or pre-cross events—especially when clear commands were later given. The thief on the cross was not under the New Covenant. He was saved directly by the authority of Christ before the gospel was preached, before the Holy Ghost was given, and beforebaptism for the remission of sins with the indwelling of the Holy Ghost was established.

Christ now calls all men to obey His gospel, not interpret it through loopholes.

Hebrews 5:9 (KJV) – “And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.”

No one today has the authority to bypass what was commanded in Acts 2:38. The pattern is clear:
Believe. Repent. Be baptized. Receive the Holy Ghost. Live Holy. Endure to the end.

This is the way. This is the gospel. And there is no other.

To use the thief as an excuse to skip baptism is to ignore the full gospel message that was preached by the apostles and sealed with the Holy Ghost. This is a dangerous misunderstanding.

Hebrews 2:3 (KJV): “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation...”

⚔️ CONTRADICTION #2: "Christ didn’t baptize, so baptism must not be required."

❌ Claim: John 4:2 says Christ Himself did not baptize, implying it isn’t important.

✅ Biblical Refutation:
It’s true Christ did not personally baptize, but this does not lessen baptism’s importance.

💡 Clarification on Belief: Belief is the first step in coming to salvation, but it is never shown alone to bring salvation. True faith always leads to obedience.

John 3:36 – “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not [disobeys] the Son shall not see life...”

James 2:17 – “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

Romans 1:5 – “...for obedience to the faith among all nations for his name.”

Hebrews 5:9 – “He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.”
These verses show that belief alone is never presented as complete salvation. Instead, it must be followed by obedience, confession, repentance, baptism, and a life of enduring faith.

John 4:2 – "(Though Christ himself baptized not, but his disciples.)"

Matthew 28:19-20 – "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them..."

Mark 16:16 – "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved..."

Luke 6:46 – "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"

John 17:17 – "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."

🗡️ Conclusion: Though He didn’t baptize personally, Christ commanded it. Baptism remains essential under His New Covenant instructions. Many twist John 3:16 and Romans 10:9-10 to teach belief as the only step. But even those verses imply deeper action.

Romas 13:11 (KJV)And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

⚔️ CONTRADICTION #3: "Water baptism is just a symbol."

❌ Claim: Many claim water baptism is only symbolic — a public demonstration, not necessary for salvation. Stating the following: “Baptism also now save us” does not mean that water baptism is essential to salvation, since it cannot wash away the filth of the flesh. Baptism shows the answer of a good conscious toward God. In other words, baptism is a conscious testimony to one’s faith to the resurrection of Christ because it symbolizes our resurrection with Him.

1. ✅ Biblical Refutation:
Scripture consistently links water and cleansing of sin—it’s never depicted as mere symbolism alone.

Water has always been used for purification of sins throughout Scripture — from the Old Covenant to the New. This pattern shows the consistent role of water as an instrument for spiritual cleansing.

Old Covenant purification:

Numbers 19:7–9 – “for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.”

Exodus 30:20–21 – “they shall wash with water, that they die not.”

Ezekiel 36:25–26 – “Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean.”

2. New Covenant also demands water for cleansing and entry into life—not as a mere picture but as an instrument of grace:

a. Remission of sins:

Acts 2:38 – "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins..."

b. Connection to new birth & justification:

Colossians 2:12: “Buried with him in baptism… through the faith of the operation of God”
Romans 6:3–4: “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Christ were baptized into his death? … walk in newness of life”

3. Baptism effects both justification and sanctification—it’s more than symbolic:

a. Justification by grace through faith must be “worked out”

in baptism: “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption … ” (Romans 3:24) coupled with “buried with him in baptism” shows baptism as the means by which we appropriate Christ’s redemptive work.

b. Sanctification by the Spirit is tied to the “washing of water by the word”: Ephesians 5:26: “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word”

c. A good conscience is not granted by mere belief but through obedient baptism:

1 Peter 3:21: “The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us … the answer of a good conscience toward God”

4. True obedience always accompanies genuine faith—baptism is the action step of faith, not an optional add‑on:

James 2:22: “Faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect”

Hebrews 5:9: “Being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him”

Also see Study 25 - Baptism, where water baptism is tied directly to washing away sin, and the explanation of why it is not just symbolic.

🗡️ Conclusion: Water baptism is far more than a symbol—it is the required biblical instrument God chose for the Remission of sins (Acts 2:38), Union with Christ’s death & resurrection (Rom 6:3–4), Sanctification (“washing of water by the word”) and A clear conscience before God (1 Pet 3:21)

Baptism is not only essential to salvation, it must also be done according to God's requirements. And one of the most important ones is that the person performing the baptism must be called and ordained by God — or by someone who was directly ordained by God.

This matters because only those who are called, sent and empowered by God carry the authority to remit sins through baptism. As Christ said:

John 20:21-23 (KJV) – "Then said Christ to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you... Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained."

If the baptizer is not part of the chain of divine ordination, then they do not carry the biblical authority to remit sins — and remission is the entire purpose of water baptism (Acts 2:38).

Matthew 15:13-14 – “Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up... they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”

Anyone baptized by someone not sent or ordained by God has not received true remission of sins, but only a powerless ritual. To treat baptism as merely symbolic is to reject the power of the cross itself—dismissing both the authority of Christ and the purpose for which He commanded baptism through His ordained messengers.

⚔️ CONTRADICTION #4: "The Spiritual baptism is what truly matters, not water."

❌ Claim: Some argue that receiving the Holy Ghost is all that matters and water baptism is optional.

✅ Refutation #1:
Scripture never separates water and Spirit. Christ said:

John 3:5 (KJV) “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

  • The apostles always practiced water      baptism, even when the Spirit fell first (Acts      10:44–48).
  • The Ethiopian eunuch was baptized      immediately when water was found (Acts      8:36–38).
  • Philip, who baptized him, was not a      random believer — he was one of the seven ordained deacons under apostolic      authority (Acts 6:3–6).

👉 This shows baptism was never left to chance or casual practice. Authority mattered.

✅ Refutation #2:
This claim "The Spiritual baptism is what truly matters, not water." directly opposes the pattern given by Christ and followed by the apostles. Scripture never separates spiritual baptism from water baptism as optional or interchangeable. Rather, both are essential components of the one true baptism that places a believer into the body of Christ.

1. Water Baptism is Commanded, not Suggested.

Matthew 28:19 (KJV) – “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”

Mark 16:16 (KJV) – “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved…”

These are not figurative instructions. The apostles did not replace water baptism with a “spiritual only” experience.

2. The Early Church Practiced Water Baptism Immediately

Acts 10:44–48 – Cornelius and his household received the filling of the Holy Ghost before baptism, yet Peter still said: “Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized...? And he commanded them to be baptized…”

Even after the filling of the Holy Spirit, Peter emphasized water baptism as the rightful step of obedience and necessary part for salvation.

Acts 8:36–38 – The Ethiopian eunuch said, “See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?” The Spirit led Philip to this encounter—yet water was still required.

3. Study 36 – The Apostles’ Doctrine confirms the pattern:

All believers in the book of Acts, whether Jewish or Gentile, were baptized in water in the name of Christ, followed by the indelling of the Holy Ghost, not one without the other.

Acts 2:38 – “Repent, and be baptized... and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

4. Study 21 – Grace and Mercy:

Grace leads us into obedience, not away from it.

Titus 2:11–12 – “...teaching us that, denying ungodliness... we should live soberly, righteously, and godly...” Rejecting baptism as unnecessary denies the very teaching grace provides.

5. Study 51 – Sanctification and Study 52 – Justification:

Sanctification and justification are both connected to cleansing through water:

Ephesians 5:26 – “...sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.”

Romans 6:4 – “We are buried with him by baptism into death...”

Water baptism is not symbolic—it is where the old man dies and sanctification begins.

6. Baptism in water came first, then the indwelling of the Spirit.

See also Study 26 - The Holy Ghost for full breakdown of when and how the Spirit is given, and its connection to obedience and baptism.

Authority and Ordination

Many today accept a “common salvation” that allows anyone to baptize, regardless of doctrine. But Study 37 – Truth or Deceit warns us: not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” is recognized by Christ (Matthew 7:21–23). These are works of lawlessness (ἀνομία) — unauthorized acts done without God’s authority.

  • Jude 1:3 tells us to contend for the faith once      delivered, not to accept counterfeit versions of salvation.
  • If a pastor or leader teaches a false      salvation plan (faith alone, baptism as symbolic, sprinkling, etc.), then      his baptism cannot remit sins because it is rooted in disobedience, not      truth.

Acts 19:1–5 proves this: Paul re-baptized those who had received baptism without apostolic authority. Their first baptism was powerless because it was not done correctly under the truth of the gospel.

This principle is consistent with God’s pattern from the Old Testament:

  • Only priests ordained by God could      perform sacrifices and washings (Exodus      30:20–21). Unauthorized offerings (Nadab & Abihu, Leviticus 10:1–2) brought judgment.
  • In the New Covenant, baptism — tied      directly to remission of sins — must also be performed under divine      authority.

🗡️ Conclusion: Conclusion:
Baptism is valid only when it is done in obedience to Acts 2:38, administered in both water and Spirit, and performed by one ordained within the apostolic chain of authority. Otherwise, it is lawlessness—a powerless ritual. As Christ warned: “Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up” (Matthew 15:13).

Scripture never allows Spirit baptism alone to replace water baptism. Both are required parts of the salvation process. To claim that only the “Spirit baptism” matters is to dismiss the clear, consistent commands of Christ and the apostolic pattern in Scripture. Water baptism is where:

  • Sins are remitted (Acts 2:38)
  • The old man is buried (Romans 6:4)
  • A good conscience is obtained (1 Peter 3:21)
  • We obey Christ’s command (Matthew 28:19)

For it is written: “One Lord, one faith, one baptism” (Ephesians 4:5) — not two, not separate. The true baptism includes both water and Spirit, just as Christ taught in John 3:5: “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

🛑 Warning

Many today have been baptized by leaders never ordained or rooted in false doctrines. Study 37 warns us of the “common salvation” — a counterfeit plan that deceives many (Jude 1:3–4).

👉 If the baptizer was not ordained under the apostles’ doctrine, then the baptism may be void, leaving only a powerless ritual.

⚔️ CONTRADICTION #5: "What about people who didn’t have the chance to be baptized?"

❌ Claim: Surely God wouldn’t condemn someone who believed but died before baptism?

❌ Claim: “If someone truly believed but died before they could be baptized, God would surely save them anyway. He knows their heart.”

✅ Biblical Refutation:
While God is indeed merciful and just, we are not authorized to teach exceptions to the gospel that were never declared by Christ or His apostles. The moment we begin building doctrines on “what if” scenarios, we step out of the fear of God and into the realm of man’s opinions.

Proverbs 14:12 (KJV) – “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

1. The Gospel Is a Command, Not a Suggestion

Acts 2:38 (KJV) –“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Christ for the remission of sins…”
Mark 16:16 (KJV) – “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved…”

We are commanded to preach the full gospel, not a modified one based on emotional exceptions. Not everyone who meant to repent in the Bible was spared judgment.

2. From Study 19 – Repentance:

True repentance is a change that must produce action. Even desire without obedience is not accepted. Consider the warning in:

Luke 13:3 (KJV) –“Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
Repentance without follow-through is still rebellion in God’s eyes.

3. From Study 20 – Faith:

James 2:17 (KJV) – “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

Believing in one’s heart but never obeying with action is not saving faith.

4. From Study 22 – Confessing Christ:

Confession with your mouth out loud is a public declaration, but it is not the finish line. The apostles always followed confession with immediate baptism, as seen in Acts 8, Acts 10, and Acts 16.

5. From Study 21 – Grace and Mercy:

God’s mercy is real—but it is offered on His terms, not ours.

Titus 2:11–12 (KJV) – “The grace of God… hath appeared… teaching us… to live righteously...” Grace teaches us to obey—not to delay or make excuses.

6. From Study 53 – Righteousness:

1 John 3:7 (KJV) – “He that doeth righteousness is righteous...” Right intentions alone do not save. Obedience is the fruit of righteousness.

7. What if someone dies before baptism?

We do not judge souls—we judge doctrine.

Deuteronomy 29:29 (KJV) – “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us…”

We are only responsible for preaching what has been revealed. It is God’s alone to judge the unknown and unseen. But our job is to teach what was commanded: that baptism is for the remission of sins, and no one has the authority to skip it or preach otherwise.

Only Christ can judge exceptions — but we must preach what He commanded:

🗡️ Conclusion:Christ will judge those who couldn’t. But for all who can, obedience is required without delay.

See Study 27 - Are You Truly Saved for deeper reflection on obedience and whether one is walking in true salvation.

It is dangerous to base salvation doctrine on hypothetical situations. Every account of salvation after the resurrection includes water baptism. The apostles made no exceptions—not for soldiers, jailers, royalty, or foreigners.

2 Thessalonians 1:8 (KJV) –“In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord יהושוע Christ.”

If someone truly desires to obey but dies before doing so, God will judge righteously. But no teacher, preacher, or disciple has the right to teach that obedience can be delayed, avoided, or replaced by good intentions.

PART 2: SCRIPTURE-BASED MAP OF SALVATION

From: Study 29 - Map Your Way to Salvation

Salvation is not a one-time emotional decision, but a clear process of transformation revealed through the teachings of Christ and His apostles. This map is not man-made—it is built directly from Scripture, as taught in all of Zion’s Roar Holy Ministry studies.

The intention of this study map, where the instructions are in Study 28, is to follow the plan of salvation using biblical verses and breaking them down. Doing this will give us understanding on what God requires and how each condition connects one to another.

2 Tim 2:15 (KJV) –"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

[Followed by an extensive list of over 100 verses connecting concepts like belief, repentance, baptism, obedience, remission of sins, endurance, and the Holy Ghost. All relationships are presented in a cause-and-effect style, showing how each scriptural element leads toward salvation.]

PART 3: DOCTRINAL SUMMARY AND FINAL QUESTIONS

The gospel of salvation, as taught by Christ and His apostles, is not open to private interpretation or denominational rewriting. It is a clear, ordered, and divinely revealed process.

Each of the following doctrines is essential, none are optional, symbolic-only, or replaceable:

1. Faith

Hebrews 11:6 – “Without faith it is impossible to please him...”

Faith begins the journey, but as confirmed in Study 20, faith alone is dead unless it produces obedience.

2. Repentance

Acts 17:30 –“God... now commandeth all men every where to repent.”

Repentance is the full surrender of one’s life and will. As Study 19 reveals, it must result in actual change—not empty remorse.

3. Confession of Christ

Romans 10:10 – “...with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Study 22 explains that confession identifies the believer with Christ publicly, but it must be followed by obedient action.

4. Water Baptism

Acts 2:38 –“Repent, and be baptized... for the remission of sins...”

Mark 16:16 –“He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved...”

The doctrine of baptism is not symbolic—it is essential. Study 36 and Study 23 confirm that baptism is the appointed means for remission, burial of the old man, and entrance into covenant with God.

5. Receiving the Holy Spirit

Acts 5:32 –“...whom God hath given to them that obey him.”

It is not received by default. Study 21 teaches that the Holy Spirit is a seal upon those who submit to the full gospel, not partial belief.

6. Righteousness, Sanctification, and Holiness

1 John 3:7 –“...he that doeth righteousness is righteous...”

Hebrews 12:14 – “...without holiness, no man shall see the Lord.”

According to Studies 53, 51, and 54, these doctrines reveal that salvation is not a moment—it is a life. God expects transformation, not just forgiveness.

7. Obedience to the Apostles' Doctrine

Acts 2:42 –“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine...”

Study 36 confirms that salvation must follow the blueprint given to the apostles—no deviation, no substitutes.

❓ FINAL QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:

1. Have you been baptized by someone ordained and sent by God, or just anyone claiming authority?

(See Acts 19:1–5: Paul re-baptized those who were baptized incorrectly.)

2. Has your faith produced action, or have you stopped at belief alone?

James 2:17 – “...faith, if it hath not works, is dead...”

3. Have you obeyed all the gospel steps, or only the parts you were taught?

Galatians 1:8 – “...if any... preach any other gospel... let him be accursed.”

4. Are you continuing in sanctification and obedience daily?

Romans 6:4 – “...walk in newness of life.”

5. Will you trust your eternal soul to tradition, assumption, or truth revealed in Scripture?

2 Thessalonians 2:10– “...because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”

🚨 Final Conclusion

Baptism is valid only when it is done in obedience to Acts 2:38, administered in both water and Spirit as one complete birth, and performed by one ordained within the apostolic chain of authority. Anything less is lawlessness — a powerless ritual. As Christ warned: “Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up” (Matthew 15:13).

Scripture never allows Spirit baptism alone to replace water baptism. Both are required, joined together in the salvation process. To claim that only the Spirit matters is to dismiss the clear and consistent commands of Christ and the apostolic pattern:

  • Sins are remitted at baptism (Acts 2:38).
  • The old man is buried in baptism (Romans 6:4).
  • A good conscience is obtained      through baptism (1 Peter 3:21).
  • We obey Christ’s command in baptism      (Matthew 28:19).

Ephesians 4:5 confirms this unity: “One Lord, one faith, one baptism.” Not two, not separate, not optional. The true baptism is water and Spirit together, just as Christ declared in John 3:5: “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

👉 Therefore, true baptism is not a symbol, not a choice, and not subject to man’s traditions. It is the covenant act of obedience where sins are remitted, the old man is buried, the Spirit is received, and eternal life begins — but only when performed in truth and under divine authority.

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”

🛑 Warning: Many today have been baptized by pastors or leaders who were never biblically ordained — and never taught the full truth about repentance, confession, remission of sins and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. If the full gospel wasn't preached, and if obedience to every requirement wasn't explained, the person may have received a counterfeit baptism just like Jude 1:13 warns us.

Jude 1:3-4 (KJV)Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord.

Let us break this verse down.

Ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the Saints.

The definition of EARNESTLY is with sincere and intense conviction; seriously.

The definition of CONTEND is to strive.

So, this is what Jude is saying:

It was needful to write to you of the common salvation and appeal to you that ye should, (leave that common salvation plan and) with sincere and intense conviction, strive for the faith which was once delivered unto the Saints.

That Common salvation is NOT of the true faith!

For baptism to fulfill its purpose — the washing away of sins — the person performing it must be authorized by God. This is because remission of sins is not just symbolic or automatic — it requires God’s appointed vessel to administer it (John 20:23).

If the baptizer was not taught, sent, or ordained under the authority of the apostles' doctrine, then it violates the divine order of the New Covenant and may result in no true remission.

🚨 FINAL WARNING:

Hebrews 2:3 – “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation...”
This is not just about knowledge—it is about surrender. Every soul must weigh what they’ve been taught against Scriptureand the apostles’ doctrine and make their choise.

Luke 14:26-28 (KJV) If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”

Study 27- Are you truly saved

27

Are you truly saved?

2 Tim 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

God commands us as His children/disciples to study and verify our doctrine. He also commands us to receive correction and give correction. So, if you believe my teachings are in error, the least that should happen is that you contact me and correct me.

2 Tim 3:16-17 (KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

…………………………………….

Are you truly saved?

According to the Gospel of Christ, in order to receive salvation, we need the following: All this must come together, not weeks, months or years apart!

The moment you received your salvation did the following things happen?

Place a check mark on those that you are 100% sure that happened!

¨ Did you know that salvation/eternal life is only through Jesus Christ? John 3:15-16, Rom 6:23.

¨ Did you believe the Gospel? Mark 1:15

¨ Did you believe that Christ is the only begotten son of God? John 3:18, Acts 8:37.

¨ Did you believe in the Father and the Son? John 5:24, John 6:47.

¨ Did you believe God the Father raised Jesus Christ from the dead? Rom 10:9, 1 Thes 4:14.

¨ Did you know and understood that believing alone does not save you; just like baptism alone, or good works alone does not save you?

o Did you know that salvation is only nearer when you believe? Rom 13:11

o Did you know that when you believe, you are sealed only with the promise of salvation? Eph 1:13.

o Did you know that you are sealed with that promise until the day of your redemption/salvation? Eph 4:30.

o Did you know that God has more requirements/conditions we need to meet other than to believe in order to give you eternal life?

Requirements like confessing Christ as Lord and savior, confessing your sins, repenting, obedience, Etc.

¨ Did you know that getting baptized is a commandment! Matt 28:19, Acts 2:38

¨ Did you know that water baptism is also an ESSENTIAL part of salvation? 1 Pet 3:21, Mark 16:16, Col 2:12, John 3:5, Acts 2:38.

The following must go together: During your water baptism,

¨ Did you confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior? Rom 10:9-10, Phil 2:12.

¨ Did you repent of your sins? Mark 16:16, Luke 13:13, Acts 17:30.

¨ Did you confess you are a sinner during baptism? Matt 3:6, Mark 1:5.

¨ Did you call upon the Lord (audible)? Romans 10:9-13, Acts 2:21.

¨ Did you get baptized with water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost? Matt 28:19. Num 19:7-9, Matt 3:6, Acts 8:36-38, Acts 22:16, Col 2:12.

o Did the Pastor say the known name of the Father? Did the Pastor say the known name of the Son? Did the Pastor say the known name of the Holy Spirit?

¨ Did you get baptized purposedly FOR the remission of your sins? Acts 2:38

o If or when you got baptized did you get baptized only for the forgiveness of sins?

§ Remission and forgiveness are 2 different things and for 2 different reasons.

§ Or maybe the “Pastor” just said, I baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ, with no reason? (No mention of, for the forgiveness of your sins).

¨ Did you also “purposedly” get baptized for the indwelling of the Holy Ghost? Acts 19:2-6, Mat 3:16, Mark 1:10, John 1:32,

¨ Did the person doing the baptism pray for you and laid hands on you after baptism, in order to receive the indwelling of the Holy Ghost? Acts 19:2-6. Acts 8:17-19.

Very, very important,

Was the person doing the baptism, called, and ordained by God (like Paul, John, Peter, Matthew, etc.) or the least was he ordained by someone who was directly ordained by God (like Mattias, Stephen, Philip, Prochorus, etc.)!

Why is it so essential that the person performing a baptism be someone ordained by God—or by someone who was ordained by God?

John 20:21-23 (KJV) Then said Christ to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained. Remember, remission of sins only happens once, so God ordains the person and gives them the authority to remit those past sins. And it is ONLY through that one-time baptism, that their sins will be remitted by God through the baptizer. John 20:23 (KJV) Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

Forgiveness of sins happens many times and no human has the authority to forgive sins.

« If the person who performed the baptism or is preaching, did not explain to you all of the above conditions, then he was NOT ordained by God! And he is a blind leader; in other words, he is a false preacher giving you a watered-down salvation plan. Matthew 15:13-14 (KJV) But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

To sum it up; Believing is the first thing we do toward salvation and baptism is the last thing that seals us with the promised salvation and “technically” turns our bodies into a temple that can be indwelled by the Holy Ghost!

Those who preach that salvation is a free gift of God and all we have to do is believe and know that we have attained salvation, misunderstand the scriptures.

Mark 16:16 (KJV) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Everything in between believing and baptism are just more requirements for salvation! Or does anyone truly believe that repenting is not also another requirement and that if we don’t repent, they will still go into heaven?

Is calling upon the Lord as Lord and saviour and even being water baptized not another requirement?

Salvation is a gift from God. But even though salvation is a free gift from God, he has laid down certain conditions upon which he will give it.

There is nothing that we can do to merit salvation. Whether it be believing in Jesus, doing the works of God, or being baptized, we can never "earn our salvation". The only way we can show our faith in Christ is if we are willing to accept and be obedient to what He says.  But it is after those conditions are met, that God has chosen to impart his wonderful grace of salvation to us as a willing believer.

” He that hath an ear,

let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”
